The 30th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival kicked off on January 3rd with “Talking Pictures” screenings of award contenders If Beale Street Could Talk, Roma, and Bohemian Rhapsody. Regina King and director Barry Jenkins attended participated in a Q&A for If Beale Street Could Talk with the festival's Artistic Director Michael Lerman. Alfonso Cuaron was joined by stars Marina De Tavira and Yalitza Aparicio for the screening of Roma and all three participated in a Q&A with the festival's Director of Programming Lili Rodriguez. Rami Malek attended and participated in a Q&A for Bohemian Rhapsody with Deadline's Pete Hammond.
Eric Balfour has signed on to direct the indie feature Walk to Vegas. Best known for his acting roles in Six Feet Under, 24 and Haven, Walk To Vegas will be Balfour's feature-length directorial debut.
