Wednesday, March 21, 2018 was the grand opening of Grand Hotel. I was thrilled to be in attendance and the performance did not disappoint. With the book by Luther Davis; music and lyrics by Robert Wright and George Forrest; additional music lyrics by Maury Yeston, music director of the Encores! Orchestra, Rob Berman; and directed and choreographed by Josh Rhodes; as well as a talented cast, the performance was great fun from beginning to end.

Though the songwriting team of Robert Wright and George Forrest is best remembered by Broadway enthusiasts for adapting the music of Edvard Grieg into SONG OF NORWAY and similarly using the melodies of Alexander Borodin to create their score for KISMET, their greatest success came when director/choreographer Tommy Tune took interest in a musical of theirs that fizzled into obscurity on its way to Broadway, then known as AT THE GRAND.

Music Director Rob Berman. Grand Hotel, The Musical will run for seven performances at New York City Center from March 21 - 25. The Encores! at 25 season concludes with Me and My Girl (May 9 - 13). When Encores! decided to begin a search for the show's biggest fan from the original run- a woman who appeared in a commercial for the show in 1992- the internet came to the rescue.

Known for their hit duo act that has toured the country stripping down music with Broadway guests, Lauren Molina and Nick Cearly are at the forefront of the cabaret industry. Kristin Stokes (The Lightning Thief, The Ballad of Little Jo) and Peter LaPrade (The Lightning Thief) have joined the line-up for THE CAPULET PARTY at The Green Room 42 on Monday, March 19th at 9:30pm!

Song bird, Taylor Pearlstein is set to release her debut album, When the Birds Wake You Up. From Seattle to Tuscan, Taylor Pearlstein has been seen on stages all across the country. After moving to New York City just last year, she has quickly become a crowd favorite in the late night cabaret scene, having performed at Le Poison Rouge, The Duplex, and The West End Lounge with artists like Derek Gregor, Sam Carner, Morgan Reilly, and more.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Helene Yorke is replacing Stephanie Styles in the Tony Award Winning musical Grand Hotel at Encores!

Singer/Actress Erin Leddy and New York concert performer, actor and writer Tim Realbuto will team up for their Green Room 42 debut in CROSSROADS on Sunday, April 8th at 7:00 PM. Ms. Leddy is known for her performances in GHOSTLIGHT THE MUSICAL (co-written by Realbuto) and ANYTHING GOES. Mr. Realbuto, who is known for his performances in THE WEAK ONES and WUNDERKIND, will begin filming the lead role in the motion picture YES (based on his hit stage play) this spring.
