It’s been an interesting process creating the very first weekly classical concert series at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club together with James Pearson. We’ve developed several entirely new programmes, particularly for one of our programming strands, Close Up Classical. A great deal of time is currently being spent working out exactly which musical choices work best for each concert programme, as we’re dealing with a small stage (a maximum of seven musicians) and, at times, large-scale orchestral works that need to be cleverly reduced for a small chamber ensemble.

In honor of David DiChiera, founder and artistic director of the Michigan Opera Theatre (MOT), Ford Motor Company Fund and the MOT have established a $50,000 scholarship fund for aspiring music students at Wayne State University's College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts.

?The St. James Studio is delighted to once again be a host venue for the EFG London Jazz Festival. Eight events will take place at the St. James over the course of the festival, which will run from Friday 11 to Sunday 20 November 2016.

The St. James Studio is delighted to announce 16 events taking place over ten days in November as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival 2015. The St. James has been involved with the festival every year since the studio opened in October 2012, each year presenting more events than the last. Collaborating with established producers JBGB Events, Fane Management and Word Theatre, the St. James is proud to present a broad programme of lunchtime, evening and late night performances, catering for all tastes and bringing the finest artists to the St. James Studio stage.

The LakeArts Foundation will present the World Premiere of TROPHIES, a unique collaborative performance piece that blends sculptural masks by Roland Gebhardt, choreography by Mercedes and music by Moondog, performed live by HalfMoon Consort, under the direction of Louis Nicolia. It will be performed tonight, June 26 at Jack Hanley Gallery.

The Independent, The Independent on Sunday, i and London Evening Standard are proud to launch The Independent's Elephant Appeal Christmas campaign in association with Space for Giants, with support from Jude Law, Clare Balding, Boris Johnson and Bear Grylls.
