BroadwayCon and the Broadway League Foundation have announced today that the 2017 Jimmy Award winners will perform at BroadwayCon. Sofia Deler (2017 Best Performance by an Actress) and Tony Moreno (2017 Best Performance by an Actor) will take the stage during the second annual BroadwayCon Star To Be competition on Saturday, January 27, while the judges deliberate.
The Broadway League announces that the 10th annual JIMMY AWARDS will take place on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 7:30pm at the Minskoff Theatre, 200 West 45th Street in Manhattan.

Robbie Florian's farce, The Cadaver Synod: A Pope Musical will debut at this year's New York Musical Festival, playing from July 17 - 23 at The Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row (410 W 42nd Street). Tony Moreno and Sofia Deler, two Orange County high school students from the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts's Applause Awards program won awards for Best Actor and Best Actress on Monday evening at The Jimmy Awards in New York City. Moreno and Deler competed against 72 other students from across the country for the top prize in a ceremony at Broadway's Minskoff Theatre that was hosted by 2017 Tony Award winner for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical, Ben Platt, of Dear Evan Hansen. This is the first time in the 9-year history of the Jimmy Awards that both winners come from the same program and city.
