What Will the Neighbors Say? (www.wwtns.org) opened their latest show, 'The Diana Tapes,' on Sunday May 27th at HERE Arts Center. The production runs through June 10th before a transfer to London's Stockwell Playhouse.

Will the Neighbors Say will present the New York Premiere of James Clements' THE DIANA TAPES, directed by Wednesday Sue Derrico (HVMLET for She NYC Arts Festival) at HERE (145 6th Avenue, enter on Dominick Street, one block south of Spring Street), May 24-June 10. Performances will run Tuesday through Saturday at 7pm, with matinee performances on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday at 2pm. Tickets ($25/$15 for under 30 & seniors) are available for purchase in advance at www.thedianatapes.com. The performance will run approximately 70 minutes, with no intermission. This production is part of SubletSeries@HERE, a curated rental program, which provides artists with subsidized space and equipment, as well as technical support.
The Diana Tapes, by James Clements directed by Wednesday Sue Derrico, is the true story of one of the greatest media scandals in British history - the publication of Andrew Morton's book about Princess Diana, "Diana Her True Story in Her Own Words", which ended her marriage and shook the monarchy to its core.

Diana, Princess of Wales remains a fascinating figure, despite the two decades that have gone by since her death. The relatively new play, THE DIANA TAPES, by James Clements takes an interesting approach to the princess, her motivations and involvement with the tabloid writer Andrew Morton, when he wrote Diana: In Her Owns Words in 1992. Diana was typically portrayed as a beautifully fragile woman with a pure heart who was cuckolded and had a tremendous amount of difficulty in her life, but this play presents her as a canny manipulator using the press to control her own narrative, rather than allowing the royal family's media machine dictate what others think of her. It's a complicated portrait of a public figure who everyone likely has an opinion about, but also an interesting look into the potential problems created for her friends and her biographer when she decides she wants to tell her own story.

What Will the Neighbors Say? is excited to announce its upcoming production of Four Sisters, a new play by Co-Artistic Director James Clements. The play examines the lives and deaths of the four daughters of the last Tsar of Russia in the aftermath of the 1917 Revolution. Four Sisters will begin with a preview performance on Tuesday March 21st before opening on Wednesday March 22nd at the Beckman Theatre at the American Theatre for Actors, 314 W 54th St.
