According to Deadline, Juliette Binoche, James Brolin, and have signed on to join Antonio Banderas and Martin Sheen for the film. Binoche replaces Jennifer Lopez, who withdrew after re-enlisting on Fox's AMERICAN IDOL.

While it was billed as a presentation celebrating the release of his 13-song CD, Tales From the Bonus Round, and his 60th birthday, Steven Schalchlin's recent show at the Metropolitan Room was so much more than that. It was also one about fear, fortitude, anxiety, anguish, compassion, courage, and love, all expressed in poetic and often clever lyrics and melodies ranging from uplifting gospel to Billy Joel-sounding mid-tempo pop to sensitive ballads, many colored with musical theater undertones. At their core, most of the songs conveyed what Schalchlin has thought, felt and experienced since early 1993, when he was diagnosed with AIDS, launched one of the first internet diaries/blogs (in early 1996), stared death in the face on a daily basis, took an experimental AIDS drug (Crixivan), and ultimately regained his health and career. When you listen to his songs, it's not hard to believe Schalchlin when he claims that during those scary days writing music and the “healing properties of piano vibrations” also helped save his life, and the 17 years since are what he calls his “Bonus Round.”

Hallmark Movie Channel will begin its own holiday celebration this year with 'The Most Wonderful Movies of Christmas,' a unique holiday programming slate featuring its first-ever original holiday movie, 'Christmas With Tucker' and a collection of holiday viewer favorites.

On September 4th and 5th a SWAMP PRINCESS and a SPACE COWBOY happily landed on the lower East side on the stage of the WILD PROJECT. The Wild Project is new to us and is a fantastic space and welcome addition to the neighborhood. They are a production company and venue for contemporary theatre, film and visual art, located at 195 East 3rd Street and worth a visit, if SMILE SWAMP PRINCESS is any indication of the kind of fresh new work they will be presenting.

The project comes from J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot and Warner Bros. TV, with PERSON OF INTEREST's Jonathan Nolan set to direct and co-write the pilot with Lisa Joy. Jerry Weintraub, who has been gunning for the series for years, will produce.

What a glorious night of singing at the Disney Concert Hall on Grammy Award Sunday February 10! Singular singing sensation Ann Hampton Callaway presented the Streisand Songbook in honor of her mentor. On stage with Callaway was Alan Bergman, one half of the Alan and Marilyn Bergman composing team who have written 64 songs for Barbra over the years.
