?The third annual Adelaide Writers' Week will take place from Saturday 28 February to Thursday 5 March with six days of conversation and debate set in the beautiful Pioneer Women's Memorial Garden. Adelaide Writers' Week, as with the Adelaide Festival of Arts, is celebrating its 30th event in 2015.

2014 is almost done and dusted and as part of a series of five columns that reviews the past year of South African theatre, this second 'six of the best' column serves as an overview of the best South African dance and physical theatre of the past year.

Nobody does dance on local stages like the Cape Dance Company (CDC). Their 2013 season of CADENCE at the Artscape Theatre was the local dance highlight of the year and they top themselves in 2014's presentation of BLUE, a compilation of eight eclectic pieces from half a dozen choreographers.

Bare Bones Theater Company, 57 Main St., Northport, NY, presents 'Enchanted April,' a romantic comedy in two acts, set in 1922. The show opens Thursday, July 31, 2014, for ten performances over three weekends: July 31, August 1, 2 at 8 PM; August 3 at 3 PM; August 8, 9 at 8 PM; August 10 at 3 PM; August 15, 16 at 8 PM; August 17 ay 3 PM.

The Cape Dance Company (CDC) has grown into one of South Africa's top contemporary dance companies. Working from a neo-classical foundation, the company has a reputation for presenting polished work of an excellent technical standard.

The Cape Dance Company will present GRACE at the Oude Libertas Amphitheatre in Stellenbosch from 20 to 23 November 2013. From the award-winning playwright Mary Casella, It Happened in the Pine Barrens is a compelling saga of love, death and destiny set in the heavily forested area of coastal plain stretching across southern New Jersey. Casella's newly published book transforms this Pinelands into a center of thrilling events that arouse the curiosity and excitement of fiction fans through three riveting stories: "Snakes with Ruby Eyes," "Love and Death in the Pines" and "Closure in the Pines."

Bovim Ballet is back on stage in Cape Town with a return reason of QUEEN AT THE BALLET. One of the project-based company's flagship productions, this 'rock ballet' was first seen in 2004. A tribute to Freddie Mercury, the show delves into the life of the enigmatic frontman of Queen, using the timeless songs that Mercury introduced during his career at a springboard.
