Liberation Theatre Company (LTC) a Harlem-based independent theatrical producer and playwright development company established to support emerging Black playwrights, has chosen four promising new writers to participate in their Writing Residency Program for 2018-2019, the second year of the program.
Today Artistic Director Jonathan Silverstein of the Drama Desk and Obie Award-winning Keen Company announced the Twelfth Season of Keen Teens. This season's offerings will be Winifred & Myrtle Go to High School by Leah Nanako Wrinkler, directed by Michael Goldfried; Around 2 by James Anthony Tyler, directed by Estefania Fadul; and The Caribbean Queen with book & lyrics by Jamie Cowperthwait, music & lyrics by Salomon Lerner, directed and choreographed by Ilana Ransom Toeplitz with musical direction by Salomon Lerner. An-Lin Dauber will provide scenic design, with costume design by Karen Boyer, lighting design by Kate August and sound design by Karl Berntson.
The Amoralists (James Kautz, Artistic Director) announce their 11th season, RICOCHET: An Amoralists Anthology about Surviving an American Epidemic. RICOCHET will feature four boundary-pushing original, intersecting plays that follow a community as it copes with the aftermath of a mass shooting. Written by The Amoralists 2018/2019 'WRIGHT CLUB playwrights, Gabriel Jason Dean, Charly Evon Simpson, and James Anthony Tyler, the season will include four complementary original graphic novels created by Danica Novgorodoff.

The New Black Fest and The Lark, two theater organizations dedicated to celebrating and advocating for stories that explore the intersection of art and social justice, are proud to announce the fifth annual The New Black Fest at The Lark. Love (soft), 2015 Princess Grace Award-Winner Jonathan Payne (Brother Rabbit), and artist, activist, and The New Black Fest alum Liza Jessie Peterson (Sistergurls and the Squirrel) who has performed excerpts of her one-person play The Peculiar Patriot in over 35 penitentiaries across the country.
