Broadway rocker Justin Matthew Sargent, best known for his star turn as 'Drew' in Broadway's Rock of Ages, will join the company of SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark as the Peter Parker / Spider-Man Alternate. Sargent will play select performances at the Foxwoods Theatre (213 West 42nd Street) with a varied week to week performance schedule.

Broadway's SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark is doing its part to support New York's critically ill and injured children at St. Mary's Healthcare System for Children, the City's only long-term rehabilitation hospital for children and the region's largest provider of home healthcare to children with medically complex conditions. Throughout the month of June, when guests buy Spider-Man tickets through Givenick, a portion of all proceeds will be donated to St. Mary's Healthcare System for Children.

This past weekend, SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark hosted a special Mother's Day themed Everyday Hero, this time honoring Cathy Fritea, a mother who lost her first-born son. Out of her grief, she started the Angels Fund charity, which helps comfort grieving parents who have lost a child. Just yesterday, the cast of SPIDER-MAN: Turn Off the Dark got a visit from a second grade class from PS 69. The 26 students, most of whom had never seen a Broadway show before, stuck around after the show to get a photo with stars Jake Epstein and Rebecca Faulkenberry. Actress and songstress Julie Benko makes her cabaret debut at New York City's legendary Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette Street, Manhattan) tonight, February 27th at 9:30 PM in her act Wandering Star: Tales of the Road.

Former Army Staff Sergeant Clinton L. Romesha was hosted by the USO on February 17th at SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark on Broadway. He was awarded the Medal of Honor on February 11th, 2013 by President Barack Obama. Romesha was recognized during the curtain call and afterwards was greeted back stage by the cast, and you can check out photos from the event below!
