There are few titles in the American Musical cannon that are as beloved as GUYS AND DOLLS. The show about loveable gangsters and gamblers in 1920s and 30s New York has been thrilling audiences around the world since 1950. With music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, GUYS AND DOLLS is often held up beside MY FAIR LADY and GYPSY as the epitome of the musical theatre artform. Beginning Friday, January 22nd, the Surfside Players in Cocoa Beach will mount a production of the classic musical, helmed by director Bryan Bergeron. Recently, I had the chance to exchange emails with Bergeron to discuss the show.

The winner of Surfside's fourteenth annual Playwriting Contest is John Lineberger, a resident of Brevard County for the past five decades, and a long-time actor and director with Surfside Players. In his play, I Wanted Wings, John, Katherine, and Mark struggle to come to terms with the death of their father, and to try to make sense of a kind, selfless man choosing to destroy himself with alcohol… until a surprise phone call sheds new light on his experiences on a B-17 'Flying Fortress' bomber in World War II, and how war changed him and ultimately the lives of the families of all of the crewmen he flew with.

ION Television To Air All Seven Seasons Of WITHOUT A TRACE

With a focus on further building upon a primetime line-up that continues to show significant ratings growth, ION Television has acquired all seven seasons (160 episodes) of the hit crime drama 'Without a Trace,' produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Television, via a deal with Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution. 'Without a Trace' aired on the CBS Television Network until 2009. The announcement was made by Kristine Hunsinger, Senior Vice President, Planning, Scheduling and Acquisitions, ION Media Networks.

This humorous and provocative reading of selections from the letters of Albert Einstein, his wives and his friends, will star Tony Award-winning actor Anthony LaPaglia and will be directed by Tony Award-winning director Daniel Sullivan.
