The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Executive Director), dedicated to the development of new musicals and the rediscovery of musical gems from the past, as part of its acclaimed NEO Reading Series, an ever-growing, one-of-a-kind program dedicated to helping and propelling new, emerging, and outstanding musical theatre writers, in association with Penn State Musical Theatre, will present a staged reading of the new musical Tyrants, with music and lyrics by 2017-2018 NEO writer Alexander Sage Oyen and book by S.P. Monahan (Diva: Live From Hell) for ONE PERFORMANCE ONLY on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (619 Lexington Avenue, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).
Continuing their pledge to offer the audiences in the Northwest region of Connecticut and it's environs year-round entertainment, the historic Sharon Playhouse in Sharon CT is collaborating for the first time with the Salisbury Sinfonietta to present a semi-staged concert event on the mainstage of the venerable Connecticut playhouse on Saturday October 6th at 8:00pm.
Artisan Children's Theater proudly presents JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH JR. at its 148 seat Second Stage facility. The theater is located at 444 East Pipeline Road in Hurst. The show runs Saturday, June 3, 2017 through Saturday, July 8, 2017. Performances are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 10:00am and 12:00pm. No performance July 4. Penn State School of Theatre presented the musical Be More Chill, with music and lyrics by Joe Iconis and book by Joe Tracz. Be More Chill was first produced at Two River Theatre in New Jersey, where it was given its world premiere. Penn State's production is the first since that premiere - and ran October 4-15, 2016 in the Playhouse Theatre. Scroll down for photos from the production!
