Nominations for The 57th Annual Drama Desk Awards were announced on Friday, April 27, 2012 at Feinstein's at Loews Regency by Drama Desk Award winners Brian d'Arcy James and Donna Murphy, with Death Takes a Holiday, Follies and Nice Work If You Can Get It leading the pack. Public Theater's 2012-2013 Season Will Include Michael John LaChiusa's GIANT, HERE LIES LOVE Directed by Alex Timbers and More

Public Theater Artistic Director Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Patrick Willingham announced the line-up today for The Public's 2012-2013 Season, beginning in the fall with an October rededication of The Public's historic downtown building. The season continues the theater's nearly 60 year tradition of developing new theatrical voices and presenting Shakespeare to the entire New York community.

Mr. Berger directs a company that features Ana Reeder, Jeanine Serralles, and J Smith-Cameron. The Maids will run 90 minutes, with no intermission. Their annual BENEFIT PERFORMANCE & PARTY was held Sunday, March 11th. Among the guests in attendance were playwrights Kenneth Lonergan and Nicky Silver, actors Michael Emerson, Matthew Rauch, and Oscar winner Estelle Parsons.

Lonergan's MARGARET Released Today

Margaret, written and directed by Kenneth Lonergan, will finally get a theatrical release on September 30. It originally was scheduled for release in 2007 by Fox Searchlight, but was continuously delayed while Lonergan struggled to create a final cut he was satisfied with, resulting in multiple court cases. The movie stars Anna Paquin and Matt Damon.

Alec Baldwin to Host 9/11 Forum at the Public Theater Tonight

The Public Theater announced the first Public Forum of the 2011-2012 season, 'The 9/11 Decade: New York and America After the Towers.' Moderated by Alec Baldwin, the discussion will immediately follow the 7:30 p.m. performance of Richard Nelson's Sweet and Sad at The Public Theater on Thursday, September 8. Additional guests to be announced at a later date.

Carl Bernstein, Kurt Andersen Added to Public's 9/11 Forum Line-Up

The Public Theater (Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director; Joey Parnes Interim Executive Director) has announced the line-up of the best-selling author and journalist Kurt Andersen, Pulitzer Prize-winner Carl Bernstein, and the playwright and director of Sweet and Sad Richard Nelson, for the first Public Forum of the 2011-2012 season, 'The 9/11 Decade: New York and America After The Towers.'
