The celebrated American choreographer Mark Morris, swings into town with Pepperland, his unique tribute to of one of the best-selling albums of all time: The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2017.

Christian McBride, Artistic Director of the Newport Jazz Festival presented by Natixis Investment Managers, today announced the Second Wave of artists. With more than half of these groups making their NJF debut as headliners, the 2019 festival takes place August 2-4 at Fort Adams State Park and the International Tennis Hall of Fame at the Newport Casino.

Internationally known Kathak artist Farah Yasmeen Shaikh-who makes her home in the Bay Area, was trained by the late Pandit Chitresh Das and whose performances have been described as "electrifying"-brings her first traditional solo performance to the Bay Area in 5 years this spring. This follows her work in The Parting, a vivid and large ensemble piece depicting the 1947 partitioning of India into three countries by the British, that she choreographed as well as starred in during its dual run in SF and San Jose in early 2018.

Author Kim Iverson Headlee has released the third book in her Dragon's Dove Chronicles historical fantasy series, Raging Sea. Released by Pendragon Cove Press March 11, 2019, the book is already receiving rave reviews from readers and reviewers.

Today visionary recording artist, producer, songwriter, philanthropist, fashion designer, and entrepreneur, Pharrell Williams announced his newest venture – SOMETHING IN THE WATER, a multi-day music festival and cultural experience on the beach in his hometown of Virginia Beach.

Bistro, BroadwayWorld, MAC and Margaret Whiting Award winner Celia Berk returns to the Beach Cafe on Saturday, February 23rd with a special preview of her new collaboration with pianist Sean Gough. Together, they have created a program of songs about love, particularly including the hidden gems by great songwriters that have become Berk's trademark. The collaboration combines Gough's talent as an improviser with Berk's skill for storytelling achieving a result somewhere between jazz and traditional cabaret.

The Beatles' ground-breaking 1967 Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album is the inspiration behind Mark Morris Dance Group's (MMDG) Pepperland, presented by Dance Consortium and making its The Lowry debut on 29 & 30 March 2019 as part of a major UK and Ireland tour.
