The second season of the hit fantasy series 'The Shannara Chronicles' premieres Wednesday, October 11 at 10pm ET/PT on Spike. The new season consists of 10 one-hour episodes. The first season of the original scripted drama, based on the best-selling fantasy book series by Terry Brooks, debuted on MTV in 2016. The premiere of MTV's hit new sci-fi fantasy series THE SHANNARA CHRONICLES unearthed epic viewership numbers, with the premiere event reaching 7.5 million total L+3 viewers across all airings, including an average 1.9 million L+3 viewers for the premiere telecast on MTV.

 MTV today announced that its forthcoming epic fantasy series “The Shannara Chronicles” will premiere in January 2016. The network made the announcement during the first-ever Comic-Con panel for the series, which is based on author Terry Brooks' international best-selling novels. Production for “The Shannara Chronicles” wrapped last month in New Zealand.

MTV will take San Diego Comic-Con by storm with the return of Comic-Con favorite and hit drama series “Teen Wolf” for the sixth time and convention debuts of highly-anticipated shows “Scream: The TV Series” and “The Shannara Chronicles.”
