Estelle Parsons to Lead Palm Beach Dramaworks' New Production of MY OLD LADY, Running 12/3-1/4

Three lives intertwine in unexpected and profound ways in Israel Horovitz's My Old Lady, a funny, moving drama starring the legendary Estelle Parsons and featuring Angelica Page and Tim Altmeyer. This newly revised, never-before-seen version of Horovitz's 2002 play opens on December 5 (8pm) at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre. Performances continue through January 4, 2015, with specially priced previews on December 3 and 4.

13th Street Rep to Welcome Special Guests for Talkbacks

ASCAP Award-winning writer/director Chip Deffaa will be joined by special guests, including noted showbiz biographer Herb Goldman, writer/entertainer Brian Gari, and actor Michael Townsend Wright, for special audience 'talkback' sessions, following select performances of Deffaa's shows 'One Night with Fanny Brice' and 'The Irving Berlin Ragtime Revue,' which are playing in repertory this fall at the 13th Street Theater (50 W. 13th Street, NYC).

13th Street Repertory Theater's IRVING BERLIN RAGTIME REVUE to Open 11/9

When ASCAP Award-winning writer/director Chip Deffaa's "The Irving Berlin Ragtime Revue" opens November 9th at the 13th Street Repertory Theater (50 W. 13th Street, NYC), it will include some Berlin rarities and rediscoveries unheard in a century, including some never-recorded Berlin numbers.

THEATER BOYS Being Recorded for Three Projects

Audiences attending the musical comedy 'Theater Boys' at the 13th Street Repertory Theater might notice a camera or two--or three!--filming this week. Brian Gari is shooting an archival video of the entire two-hour show; Sam Donnenberg continues on-location shooting for his documentary about the making of the show, 'For the Theater'; and award-winning independent filmmaker Max Galassi, from Newtown, Connecticut, will be shooting a short film in connection with the show.

Hub Theatre Company of Boston to Present 6 HOTELS, 11/7-22

Hub Theatre Company of Boston will close its critically acclaimed second season this November by once again joining up with the region's most famous playwright Israel Horovitz for the Boston premiere of 6 Hotels. Performances are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2:00pm from Friday, November 7 through Saturday, November 22 at Club Cafe, 209 Columbus Ave, Boston.

Harold Clurman Playwrights Division Reveals Winners of 10-Minute Play Search

The Harold Clurman Playwrights Division, a program of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, has announced the results of its search for ten-minute plays with social impact. In early 2014, the division sought plays that address issues of the environmental crisis or global violence against women and girls. Over sixty plays were received. Seven of them will be read on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 7pm as part of the Harold Clurman Festival of the Arts, an annual event that highlights the relationship between art and social activism. The cast will be comprised of studio alumni and faculty. The selected plays and authors follow:

Lineup for ReOrient 2015 Festival Announced

Golden Thread Productions, the first American theatre company focused on the Middle East, is proud to announce the eight short plays selected for its prestigious ReOrient 2015 Festival of Short Plays. The winners feature returning ReOrient favorites Yussef El Guindi, Mona Mansour, Tala Manassah, and Silva Semerciyan, as well as emerging Middle Eastern-American playwrights such as Nahal Navidar.

Monica West Joins IT'S ONLY KICKBALL, STUPID thru This Sunday

Monica West has joined the cast of the kef theatrical production of IT'S ONLY KICKBALL, STUPID -- the new play by Caroline Prugh and directed by Adam Fitzgerald. She will step in for Autum Hurlbert, who had to leave the production do to scheduling conflicts, for performances through Sunday, September 14 at The Hartley House (413 West 46th Street).
