THE MIS, a multi-million dollar original television series adapted from the Stephen King novella begins principle photography today in Halifax, Nova Scotia. American cable network Spike TV has ordered 10 hour-long episodes of the series which will premiere on Spike in 2017.

Geffen Playhouse announces the West Coast premiere of THESE PAPER BULLETS! A Modish Ripoff of William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing to open the 2015/2016 Geffen Playhouse season in the Gil Cates Theater. Written by Pulitzer Prize finalist and Emmy Award nominated writer Rolin Jones (Friday Night Lights, Boardwalk Empire) with songs by Grammy Award winner Green Day front man Billie Joe Armstrong and staged by Jackson Gay. THESE PAPER BULLETS! was commissioned by Yale Repertory Theatre where it premiered in 2014.

Last night Atlantic Theater Company presented their annual Gala at The Pierre (2 East 61st Street). Directed by Neil Pepe with musical direction by Matt Gallagher, Writers' Choice saluted Atlantic's iconic playwrights with an evening of unexpected songs. For this year's Gala, Atlantic asked alumni playwrights to choose a favorite song and a favorite musician to perform it. Writers' Choice featured special tributes to Annie Baker, Martha Clarke, Stephen Adly Guirgis, David Mamet, Conor McPherson, and Doug Wright from presenters and performers Jonathan Cake, Bridget Everett, John Gallagher Jr., Rick Holmes, Brian D'Arcy James, Gary Jules, John Kelly, Zosia Mamet, Julianne Nicholson, Laura Osnes, Michael Park, Mary Beth Peil and Isiah Whitlock, Jr. among others. ABC Cancels LUCKY 7 After Two Episodes

ABC has cancelled its freshman lotto drama Lucky 7 after just two episodes, it was announced today. The news is somewhat expected, after the second episode on Tuesday earned a meager .7 in the key adult 18-49 demo. Deadline has confirmed that the network will slot Scandal reruns in LUCKY's Tuesday timeslot - with no plans to air the already produced episodes.

Songs in Celebration of a New Day was an evening of original music celebrating the future of Atlantic Theater Company, newly reinvigorated in its renovated home at the Linda Gross Theater. The Gala featured special appearances by Michael Cerveris, Christine Lahti, Jan Maxwell, Tonya Pinkins and David Pittu, toasting the $8.3M renovation of Atlantic's mainstage theater and the bright future of the award-winning off-Broadway theater company.
