The New York Musical Theatre Festival announces the first 12 new musicals selected for this year's fifth annual New York Musical Theatre Festival, which will run from September 15 through October 5, 2008.

Natalie Joy Johnson, of Legally Blonde and Bare: A Pop Opera, premiered her new club act at Therapy on Monday, February 25, with Musical Direction by Brian J. Nash, with special material by John Hill and directed by Ben Rimalower.

Kris Stewart, who has served as Executive Director of the New York Musical Theatre Festival since its inception in 2004, has left his post as of January 2, 2008, ending a 5-year tenure that moved the festival artistically from regional to national prominence. Isaac Robert Hurwitz, 29, who served as the Festival's Director of Programming during its first season before assuming the role of Executive Producer, will lead the company as it enters its fifth season.
