Women in theater news for March 2017

The 29th Street Playwrights Collective present a staged reading of Carrie Robbins' bittersweet paean to science and love, THE DEATH & LIFE OF DR. CUTTER, A VAUDEVILLE, Monday, April 3, 7 pm, at the Bernie Wohl Center.

Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II's comic, poignant romance, THE KING AND I, is the latest musical presented by Rockdale Musical Society.

Six-time Tony Award-winning costume designer CATHERINE ZUBER and legendary scenic designer TONY STRAIGES are among the 2017 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards recipients which were just announced by Theatre Development Fund (TDF), a not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts.

The ArtsQuest Foundation has announced Oscar and Tony Award winning costume designer Ann Roth as its inaugural Pinnacle of the Arts Award recipient. The award will be presented to Roth during the inaugural Linny Awards presented by Cornerstone Advisors Nov. 10, 6 p.m., at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks.
