Tedious Brief Productions proudly presents The Final Act, an Elizabethan noir thriller that tells the true (well, partially true) story of the death of playwright Christopher Marlowe, contemporary of William Shakespeare. The play is being produced as part of the Minnesota Fringe Festival which runs from today, August 1st through the 11th.

Kimberly Faye Greenberg (One Night With Fanny Brice) will star in Beautiful Soup Theater's upcoming American premiere of LIFT. A smash hit at London's SoHo Theatre, LIFT played to sold out crowds earlier this year in a production from Pitch Perfect Musicals. It makes its New York bow in a new production directed by Steven Carl McCasland.

The season will begin with the American premiere of the sold-out West End hit musical Lift, with music and lyrics by Craig Adams and a libretto by Ian Watson. The musical will play The Richmond Shepard Theatre in November, 2013 and will star Erin Elizabeth Eichhorn (Bella in Rags).

Writing this blog about how we wrote LIFT is becoming more difficult than writing the show itself. The challenge has been trying to explain what the show is about. LIFT doesn't have a clear 'boy meets girl' plot. It's about emotions and how strange we are as human beings I suppose, and how the LIFT - the setting for the show - becomes a metaphor for the unspoken feelings the characters keep locked inside.
