The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is playing host to the US premiere of the Sibojama Theatre Company production of Songs of Migration, a jazz-infused tribute to the songs of late 19th century African migrants from all across the vast continent seeking new opportunities in South Africa. A musical tribute to the great songs of migrants across the African continent, Songs of Migration is a musical celebration of South Africa's cries of joy, love, conflict, resistance, sorrow, exile, oppression, patriotism, victory, and freedom, compile by internationally acclaimed trumpeter, composer, and lyricist Hugh Masekela and written and directed by award-winning director James Ngcobo. Press night will take place on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. Songs of Migration is part of the etcetera! series.

Z2 Entertainment presents Paa Kow's By All Means Band at the Fox Theatre tonight, September 7th. Tickets are now on sale to the public for $12.00 in advance and $15.00 day of show.

Pace University has announced the 2012 / 2013 season of Pace Presents, hosted at The Michael Schimmel Center for The Arts located at 3 Spruce Street between Park Row and Gold Street in downtown Manhattan. Pace Presents is a world-class performing arts and culture series with an emphasis on music superstars from around the globe, charismatic and crowd-pleasing dance performances, spectacular theatre and contemporary cabaret. The Pace Presents season begins on September 22 with Gypsy brass superstars Fanfare Ciocarlia and culminates on April 20 with Jazz's living treasure, Hugh Masekela.

Guest pianist John Musto will perform Rhapsody in Blue, and many of Gershwin's hit songs will be sung by Darius de Haas and Carla Jablonski. A dazzling pyrotechnic fireworks display will follow the patriotic festivities.
