Author and humorist David Sedaris made his 12th appearance with the Celebrity Series of Boston as the final stop on his Fall 2016 tour. He read some of his essays and diary entries to a packed Symphony Hall Sunday night and proved that there is no such thing as a bad show when he is at the podium.

David Sedaris makes his 11th appearance with the Celebrity Series of Boston, performing before a packed audience at Symphony Hall. His program adheres to a routine format, but there is nothing routine about the subject matter and content of Sedaris' writing, except for the irony, sarcasm and guaranteed mirth it promises.

Today, Sedaris' work isn't just published in the New Yorker, not just in book form, he is now in huge demand as a reader. Who could have imagined that a snarky, off-beat short story writer could generate such a huge following? And with such a sarcastic, nasal baritone? And yet here he stood at Wolf Trap Farm Park's main stage the other night, surrounded by adoring fans, his old-tech file folder and sheafs of paper in hand. We loved it.
