Huntington-Codman Summer Theatre Institute Presents THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR

The Huntington-Codman Summer Theatre Institute - a collaborative project of the Huntington Theatre Company Department of Education and Dorchester's Codman Academy Charter Public School - culminates in two public performances of William Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor on Thursday, July 26 and Friday, July 27 at 7pm at the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA.

International advocacy organization Global Citizen today announced that Beyoncé & JAY-Z, Cassper Nyovest, D'banj, Ed Sheeran, Eddie Vedder, Femi Kuti, Pharrell Williams & Chris Martin, Sho Madjozi, Tiwa Savage, Usher, and Wizkid will headline the first Global Citizen Festival to be held in Africa, a free-ticketed event on Sunday, 2 December 2018 at the FNB Stadium, Johannesburg.

Shakespeare's light-hearted comedy about societal hierarchies and the power of love to bring them down comes to the stage at Mercer County Community College's (MCCC's) Kelsey Theatre. In their annual tribute to The Bard, Shakespeare '70 presents "The Merry Wives of Windsor" Fridays, June 22 and 29 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, June 23 and June 30 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, June 24 and July 1 at 2 p.m.

Austin Shakespeare Opens THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR At Zilker Park

Austin Shakespeare will transform the Beverly S. Sheffield Zilker Hillside Theater into the world of a classic '50s sitcom for their Free Shakespeare in the Park production of The Merry Wives of Windsor. Produced in collaboration with the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department for the 34th year, Shakespeare's famous comedy will be performed under the stars from May 3 - May 27 on Thursdays - Sundays at 8 pm, with a preview performance on Wednesday, May 2. Co-directed by artistic director Ann Ciccolella and Gwendolyn Kelso, this year's play will be a nostalgic tribute to shows like "I Love Lucy."

Oregon Shakespeare Festival Allen Elizabethan Theatre Opens 6/16-18

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival invites audiences to "be our guest" for a Falstaffian romp through merry old Windsor; a heroic, Homeric journey home to Ithaka; and a revelatory musical journey of self-discovery when its outdoor theatre opens the weekend of June 16-18. The Allen Elizabethan Theatre will feature The Merry Wives of Windsor, directed by Dawn Monique Williams; The Odyssey, adapted and directed by Mary Zimmerman; and Disney's Beauty and the Beast, directed by Eric Tucker. Previews begin June 6, and all three shows will run through the weekend of October 13-15.

Cal State Fullerton's production of Shakespeare's comedy, The Merry Wives of Windsor, runs March 11-March 26, 2016 in the Young Theatre on campus.  Helmed by director Sarah Ripper, The Merry Wives of Windsor was first published in 1602 and follows the character Falstaff who courts two wealthy married women, sending them identical love letters. When the two women find out about each other's letters, they pretend to respond to Falstaff's advances for their own amusement and to gain revenge.
