MCC Theater's production of Jeff Talbott's SUBMISSION opened last night at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. The production features Jonathan Groff (Spring Awakening, 'Glee'), Will Rogers (When the Rain Stops Falling), Eddie Kaye Thomas (American Pie, HBO's 'How to Make It in America'), and Rutina Wesley ('True Blood,' The Vertical Hour). SUBMISSION is directed by Tony Award-Winner Walter Bobbie (School for Lies, Chicago). BroadwayWorld was on hand for the opening and brings you photo coverage below!

VENUS IN FUR will begin previews on Thursday, October 13 and open Tuesday, November 8 at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street). The production will play a limited 10 week engagement with tickets on sale through Sunday, December 18 only.

The 15th Annual Hollywood Film Festival and Hollywood Film Awards, presented by Starz Entertainment, are pleased to announce honorees that will be recognized for their achievements at the festival's Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony, which will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on October 24, 2011.

It's a night of season finales on WEEDS (10p) and THE BIG C (10:30p) on Monday, September 26th.

Academy Award, Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning writer/director Oliver Stone ('Platoon,' 'Wall Street') will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award along with Academy Award-nominated, Golden Globe-nominated, Emmy Award-winning actress Lily Tomlin ('9 to 5,' 'All of Me') at the 14th annual Savannah Film Festival.

Upcoming film DOROTHY OF OZ will feature music by Oscar-nominee and 15-time Grammy winner, Bryan Adams, writing original songs for the feature with his writing partner, Jim Vallance. Along with Grammy-Award winning songwriter Tift Merritt and Emmy-winner Jim Dooley. Lyricist Mike Himelstein. Music supervisor is Vicki Hiatt (Ali, Hannibal, Madagascar, Open Season). Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director), Barry Grove (Executive Producer) and Mandy Greenfield (Artistic Producer) announce the complete 2011-2012 theatrical season of six productions including the news that REGRETS, a new play by rising young British playwright Matt Charman will have its world premiere in spring 2012 at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street).

As the powerful second season of THE BIG C draws to a shocking conclusion on Monday, September 26th, SHOWTIME has picked up a third season of the critically-acclaimed comedy series starring Laura Linney as a reserved, suburban wife/mother/teacher whose terminal cancer diagnosis forces her to shake up her life and find the light side of a dark situation. Ten new episodes will go into production starting early next year for debut in the second quarter of 2012. THE BIG C is created and written by Darlene Hunt, who serves as executive producer, along with showrunner Jenny Bicks, Laura Linney, Neal H. Moritz and Vivian Cannon. It is produced by Sony Pictures Television.

Manhattan Theatre Club's hit production of Terrence McNally's Tony Award-winning MASTER CLASS, directed by Stephen Wadsworth must end its extended engagement at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street) on Sunday September 4 after playing 26 preview performances and 70 regular performances. The play began previews on Tuesday, June 14 and opened Thursday, July 7 to rave reviews for the production and Tyne Daly's performance as the legendary Maria Callas. The production was extended twice due to popular demand.

Stage veterans Maggie Gyllenhall, Jonathan Pryce, Rupert Everett, and Hugh Dancy star in the upcoming indie flick 'Hysteria'. The film, which was written by Stephen Dyer and Jonah Lisa Dyer, focuses on the invention of the vibrator in Victorian Era England.
