The national tour of PIPPIN is coming to the Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside, for two shows only, on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, June 4, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. Naysh Fox plays the title character, and Housso Semon showcases her powerful voice as the 'Leading Player.' Broadway World interviewed Tyler Jacobson, who is one of the show's acrobats.

A thrilling update of classic Broadway fare--and winner of four 2013 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival-- the national tour of Pippin comes to the intimacy of Stage One for five performances. Concluding the Harris Center "Big Stage" series, this unforgettable production is full of high-flying, death-defying acrobatics, wondrous magical feats and soaring songs from the composer of Wicked. PIPPIN performed at Wausau's Grand Theater on April 20. This stunt-filled, magical spectacular is a dazzling delight.

There was an abundance of "Magic To Do" in PIPPIN, The Playhouse's penultimate production this season. This tour brought along skilled acrobats that dazzled the crowd not only with their Cirque de Soleil-type gymnastics but with jaw-dropping magic.

Pippin is another Tony Award-winning musical from Stephen Schwartz, (Wicked, Godspell). The story is a spectacle representing a troupe of actors performing in a play about a young prince named Pippin, (Naysh Fox), in an anguishing search for his life's purpose. As his character comes to life, Pippin meets an odd array of circus-type characters along the way.

As I wrote five years ago, regarding the first edition of Town Hall's Annual Broadway's Rising Stars concert, the traditional middle evening of their Summer Broadway Festival, this is an event where I have absolutely no intention of writing anything the least bit negative about any of the young performers who were hand-picked by Scott and Barbara Siegel to sing an evening of showtunes.  I have no desire to be the critic who drives some 22-year-old to tears with a bit of constructive criticism, inspiring him or her to angrily vow to the heavens, 'Someday I'll show that Michael Dale!'

The annual Broadway's Rising Stars features students from theatrical institutions throughout the country, including AMDA, CAP21, Steinhardt, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Carnegie Melon, Marymount Manhattan College, and The New School. These future performers make their debut on The Town Hall stage in what has become a national showcase. Scott Coulter is the director, with choreography by Vibecke Dahle and musical direction by John Fischer.
