The Board of ArtsRock has announced that Elliott Forrest, Artistic Director of the organization from its inception in 2008 will become the non-profit's first Executive Director starting July 1, 2016. Forrest will remain as Artistic Director in addition to his new role for ArtsRock who served over 2,000 audience members during their 2015-2016 Winter/Spring Season. The Pasadena Playhouse State Theatre of California announced today that Danny Feldman will be the theatre's new Executive/Artistic Director. Mr. Feldman will work closely with Artistic Director Sheldon Epps during a transitional period. It was previously announced that Mr. Epps is retiring and will become The Pasadena Playhouse's Artistic Director Emeritus.
Dreamland, a new musical conceived, written, composed by 14-time Emmy Award winner John Francis Smith with daughter Asia Ray Smith, will have its first ever "off-book" staged performances at the NoHo Arts Center Friday, June 17 at 8:00 pm; and Saturday, June 18 at 2:00 and 8:00 pm. The production is also produced by Smith. Robert Arnold directs, with musical direction by Christian Regul and Jake Anthony (who also serves as vocal director).

The Public Theater announced complete casting today for TROILUS AND CRESSIDA, the second show of The Public's 2016 Free Shakespeare in the Park season. Directed by Daniel Sullivan, TROILUS AND CRESSIDA begins performances on Tuesday, July 19 and runs through Sunday, August 14, with an official press opening on Wednesday, August 3.

New Light Theater Project and Access Theater will present STRANGE COUNTRY by award-winning playwright Anne Adams. Winner of the New Light New Voices award, it will be directed by Jay Stull (Utility, Rantoul and Die). Previews begin July 21st at Access Theater with opening slated for July 24.
WORKING is based on Studs Terkel's well-known book of interviews with U.S workers, which retells the accounts of men and women and presents the meaning that these jobs bring to their lives. This classic musical was first adapted by Stephen Schwartz and Nina Faso and premiered at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. The show later ran on Broadway briefly before entering the national regional theatre circuit. The show was updated in 2012 with two new songs from Lin-Manuel Miranda, and features the classic numbers from artists such as Stephen Schwartz, Craig Carnelia, and James Taylor.
