Allegory of Desire comes to Theater St. Gallen this week. Thus begins one of the most mysterious collections of love songs: the Song of Solomon from the Old Testament.

On June 21st, Grammy-nominated early music ensemble Ars Lyrica Houston, in collaboration with the Rothko Chapel, will present a reflective program of medieval music, entitled Contemplation in Light, in observance of the Summer Solstice. Two mainstage Ars Lyrica musicians, mezzo-soprano Cecilia Duarte and percussionist Jesús Pacheco, have carefully curated an hour-long immersive experience in the Rothko Chapel with solo voice and percussion instruments.

Two legends in experimental theater – the iconic writer/director Martha Clarke and the Tony Award-winning La MaMa ETC – will collaborate for the first time when La MaMa presents the world premiere of Ms. Clarke’s newest full-length work, GOD’S FOOL.

The College of Performing Arts at The New School is proud to present a Mannes Opera production of Grace McLean's In the Green from Tuesday, May 10 through Saturday, May 14 at the Bank Street Theater. Premiered at Lincoln Center Theater in 2019, and praised as “Ingenious & Wildly Inventive” by The New York Times, Mannes Opera has expanded on McClean’s original vision by weaving in additional choral pieces by Hildegard von Bingen, performed by a full chorus.

Robert Icke’s (Animal Farm, The Wild Duck, Hamlet, Mary Stuart, Oresteia, 1984) sold- out, five-star Almeida Theatre production, The Doctor, will tour to Theatre Royal Brighton (5-10 September), Bath (13-17 September) and Richmond (19-24 September) before transferring to the Duke of York’s Theatre from 29 September – 11 December 2022.

The Music Academy of the West has designated $75,000 in funding for four Alumni Enterprise Award projects as part of its 75th anniversary initiatives. Parthenia, New York's premiere viol consort, will present A Reliquary for William Blake, a concert on Friday, May 6 @ 7:30 PM at The Church of St. Luke in the Fields, 487 Hudson Street in Manhattan and online. The program, the third of Parthenia's 2021-22 NYC Concert Series, will also be webcast. Performers will be Parthenia Viol Consort with Cody Bowers, countertenor.

Tin's oratorio To Shiver the Sky receives its world premiere in May 2022 with the Choral Arts Society of Washington, the United States Air Force Band, and ModernMedieval.
