The Black Theatre Troupe of Upstate NY (BTTUNY) has announced its upcoming and first production of the 2023-2024 season, “Skeleton Crew” by Dominique Morisseau, directed by Hettie Barnhill.
Produced by frequent collaborator Gianluca Buccellati (Lana Del Rey, Arlo Parks, Biig Piig), “Roll the Credits” finds Ponder exploring the sonic evolution of her voice, re-packaging the powerful confidence that underlines her eight-track debut album, Some Of Us Are Brave, released last year.
An all new video has been released, featuring remixed version of 'I'm A Star' by Scott Alan, sung by Solea Pfeiffer, with music production by Devin Lewis. The video stars Ilda Mason, and features choreography by Phil Colgan. The video also features Natalie Weiss, Andrew Keenan Bolger, Julia Mattison, Joel Waggoner and a cast of dancers.
It's been over a decade since Fela! first took Broadway by storm, and still, in 2020, its cast is united and making a difference. Oneika Phillips, who starred in the 2012 return engagement, put out a call to her cast mates to come together for the #DontRush Challenge. Barrie novel Peter and Wendy, with book by Pulitzer Prize finalist Rajiv Joseph (Playhouse's Guards at the Taj, Broadway's Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo); music by Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award winner Bill Sherman (music director for Sesame Street; orchestrator for In the Heights); lyrics by Obie Award winner Kirsten Childs (The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin) and Rajiv Joseph, direction by multiple Tony Award-winning producer Jeffrey Seller (Hamilton, Rent, Avenue Q, In the Heights), and co-choreographed by three-time Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton, Bandstand) and Stephanie Klemons (In the Heights). Fly will run February 18 - March 29 in the Mandell Weiss Theatre.
