West Coast Premiere Of The Wallis' Production Of WITNESS UGANDA A DOCUMENTARY MUSICAL Announced

The Wallis Annenberg Center for Performing Arts presents the West Coast premiere of The Wallis' production of WITNESS UGANDA,  a groundbreaking documentary musical by Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews starring twelve-time Grammy nominee Ledisi, Jamar Williams (Wild Goose Dreams), Amber Iman (Hamilton) andEmma Hunton (Wicked), directed by Matthews with music direction by Gould, from Tuesday, February 5 - Sunday, February 24, 2019, in The Wallis's Lovelace Studio Theater. After a successful Off-Broadway run, this new and revised production documents the story of a man battling to find his place in a world full of injustice and inhumanity.

Tacoma Little Theatre Presents A DOLL'S HOUSE

Tacoma Little Theatre begins 2019 with Henrik Ibsen's classic, A Doll's House, as part of its 100th Anniversary Season.   This production is directed by Marilyn Bennett, with a new adaptation by Marilyn Bennett and Lydia Valentine.

Oxygen Media's Six-Part Series MARK OF A KILLER Premieres 1/20

Oxygen Media, the destination for high-quality crime programming, examines the disturbing behaviors of serial killers in “Mark of a Killer,” premiering Sunday, January 20 at 7PM ET/PT. Some killers are collectors who obtain perverse gratification by habitually stealing mementos from murder scenes, from jewelry to shoes, keys to even body parts. The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall is pleased to announce that the Sarasota engagement of the hit Broadway musical ON YOUR FEET! - based on the life story of seven-time GRAMMY-winning international superstar Gloria Estefan and her husband, 19-time GRAMMY-winning producer-musician-entrepreneur Emilio Estefan - is on sale now! Performances run from December 26-30. Show times are Today through Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

BWW Review: CHARLOTTE'S WEB at ARDEN THEATRE COMPANY is 'Some Play'

Charlotte's Web is a heartwarming story of a special friendship between a lovable pig and everyone's favorite spider. When a runt pig is born on the Arable farm, the young girl Fern saves him and nurtures him. She names him Wilbur and helps him grow big and strong. Wilbur is moved to the Zuckerman farm where he befriends a batch of barnyard animals, including a talented spider that weaves words into her web that are crucial to saving Wilbur's life as the story unfurls.

Palm Springs International Film Festival Announces Festival Line-Up

 The 30th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) announced that the festival's opening night will be the screening of All is True directed by Kenneth Branagh on Friday, January 4.  The festival will close with Ladies in Black, directed by Bruce Beresford on Sunday, January 13. The Festival will screen 223 films from 78 countries, including 48 premieres (4 World, 13 North American and 31 U.S.) from January 3-14, 2019.  The line-up includes a focus on cinema from France, India and Mexico, Premieres, Talking Pictures, Book to Screen, Special Presentations, FLOS: Foreign Language Oscar Submissions, Gay!La, Local Spotlight, Modern Masters, True Stories, World Cinema Now, a 30-film retrospective of selections from past festivals (free screenings sponsored by Desert Care Network and National Endowment for the Arts), and more.

Highlighting the specials is the U.S. premiere of Saturday Night Fever: The Ultimate Disco Movie celebrating the 40th anniversary of the movie shot guerrilla style on the streets of Brooklyn with a BeeGees soundtrack and a fledgling 23-year-old John Travolta that became a cultural phenomenon. At the heart of '70s disco fever is one of the biggest voices that shaped contemporary music in Donna Summer and the new special Donna Summer: Disco Queenshows how she became the queen of disco ushering in a new era of sound that is still heard today. Donna Summer: Disco Queen leads a week packed with '70s themed programming starting Monday, January 14 with shows about the celebrities, music and movies that defined a generation.
