Horizon Theatre Company is kicking off its 35th Anniversary Season with a 2017 Pulitzer Prize Finalist for Drama! The Wolves, a groundbreaking new play by Sarah DeLappe, will hit the Little Five Points stage from January 25 through March 3, 2019. The anticipated Southeastern premiere will include a cast of 10 of Atlanta's best actresses showcasing their acting and athletic prowess as this powerful story takes to the stage.

Another tornado heads to Gainesville as GTA sells out "The Wizard of Oz" before its Nov. 6 opening

Almost anyone born before 1995 will remember when The Wizard of Oz was a much anticipated family event, when the annual network broadcast had many children bathed and in pajamas ahead of schedule and allowed to stay up late to enjoy the classic American movie.  The Gainesville Theatre Alliance is preparing now to bring the classic 1939 film to the stage, and at 6pm, Oct. 23, will offer a sneak peek at HOW they are creating a talking lion, taking patrons from Kansas to Oz and making monkeys fly.

This summer, audiences can enjoy FREE entertainment at Piedmont Park! Horizon Theatre's comedic adaptation of Freaky Friday will return to the stage at Piedmont Park for a limited engagement from June 20-23, with all performances beginning at 7:30 p.m. Families and kids of all ages are encouraged to pack a picnic and enjoy the delightfully spunky musical based off of the popular Disney movies. Past Horizon Theatre shows at Piedmont Park include Nobody Loves You (2017), The Toxic Avenger (2016) and Avenue Q (2015).

It's hot out at Serenbe Playhouse this month.  But the heat isn't coming from the oppressive Georgia-in-August sun.  It's coming from the racy and enthralling production of Kander and Ebb's Cabaret on display at the Kit Kat Club, a neon-framed outdoor cabaret club, complete with cabaret tables flanking a long runway stage, very scantily clad cocktail waitresses, and an elevated first-rate orchestra.  This impressive site-specific setting dazzlingly supports a talented cast, and celebrated visionary director Brian Clowdus, who takes on the role of The Emcee in this production, powerfully showcases the unsettling relevance of the beloved 1966 musical.
