Tony Award-winning actors Christian Borle (Peter and the Starcatcher, Spamalot) and Beth Leavel (The Drowsy Chaperone, Elf), Tony nominee Annaleigh Ashford (Kinky Boots, Legally Blonde), and Broadway stars Heidi Blickenstaff ([title of show], The Little Mermaid) and Derek Klena (Wicked, Dogfight) are all scheduled to take part in the developmental reading. Dog and Pony will receive its World Premiere at The Old Globe next spring, running May 28 - June 29, 2014; casting for that production will be announced at a later time.

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) announced additional casting and creatives for the 25th Annual Festival of New Musicals on Thursday, October 17 and Friday, October 18 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street).

4th Wall Theatre, a non union professional theatre in Bloomfield, NJ is presenting [title of show] which had its Broadway premiere in 2004 Lyceum Theatre. The show will be directed by Gregory G. Allen.

'Sing Along,' the short film musical starring an all-Broadway cast, will have a three-day theatrical run in Los Angeles this week. The movie was filmed in New York City in October 2012 and had its East Coast premiere in April of this year.

Cabarets allow the audience to get better acquainted with a performer. But for Heidi Blickenstaff, that's a unique challenge because she has already been involved in two semi-autobiographical musicals: Title of Show and Now. Here. This. However, for anyone to think that those two musicals are all there is to Heidi Blickenstaff would be to underestimate one of Broadway's exceptional talents!

D23: The Official Disney Fan Club presents a special theatrical performance, Broadway and Beyond. Thomas Schumacher, president and producer, Disney Theatrical Productions will host a musical journey into Disney's history on Broadway and beyond at the D23 Expo: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. With a national reputation of delivering superb new musicals to its audience, Weston was able to secure both a director and a leading lady with substantial Broadway credits, abundant talent and real passion for the piece. The show chronicles its own creation as an entry in the New York Musical Theatre Festival, and follows the struggles of the author and composer/lyricist and their two actress friends during the initial brief (three-week) creative period, along with subsequent events leading up to the show's production. Writer/stars Bowen and Bell, as well as director Michael Berresse all won Obie Awards for their work on the off-Broadway production, and Bell was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical.
