Broadway's Grasan Kingsberry and Betsy Struxness to Join Greenwich Village Orchestra for Spring Pops Concert

On May 7, 2017, at 3:00PM, the Greenwich Village Orchestra, led by Music Director and Conductor Barbara Yahr, will close its 30th anniversary season at Washington Irving Campus Auditorium (at 17th St. and Irving Place) with a pops concert, Broadway Downtown, featuring performances by guest artists and Broadway stars Grasan Kingsberry (The Color Purple, Motown The Musical, Nice Work if You Can Get It, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Aida) and Betsy Struxness (Hamilton, Matilda, Memphis, Wicked).

Tony and Grammy award-nominated Michael McElroy and Broadway Inspirational Voices released the sixth video in their 'Broadway Our Way' series today, featuring 'I Don't Need A Roof' from the musical BIG FISH, with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa (multi-award winner, including Emmy, Outer Critics, and Drama Desk Awards; Grammy, and Tony nominations for The Wild Party, The Addams Family, I Am Harvey Milk). She Was Here, Now She's Out- Flashback Through THE COLOR PURPLE's Broadway Run

The Tony Award-winning revival of The Color Purple will play its final performance on Broadway today,  Sunday, January 8, 2017. The production will has played 449 regular and 33 preview performances at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 W 45th Street). Soon, a North American tour of the production will launch, most likely in the fall of 2017.

Lincoln Center's acclaimed American Songbook series returns for its 18th season of celebrating the best in American singing and songwriting. During February and March 2016, established and rising singers and singer-songwriters across a range of genres-Southern soul, bluegrass, folk, R&B, indie rock, pop, musical theater, and more-will take The Appel Room stage for concerts that explore the many iterations of American song. And in spring, American Songbook will return to Alice Tully Hall with two dynamic women whose artistry in two very different arenas demonstrates the expansive reach of American song embodied in the series.

THE BODYGUARD Producers Announce Australian Tour

Producers Michael Harrison, David Ian and John Frost today announced that the international award-winning hit musical THE BODYGUARD will reach Australian theatres in 2017. The Australian tour will commence in Sydney in April next year.

Heather Headley Plays Final COLOR PURPLE Performance Tonight

Heather Headley will take her final bow as Shug Avery in the Tony-winning Broadway revival of The Color Purple this evening. Headley joined the company on May 10th after taking over the role from Jennifer Hudson. Jennifer Holliday will assume the role beginning October 4th.
