New York’s new musical theater writing program, the Institute for American Musical Theatre Creators, will present an evening of original student-written songs from the Fall of 2021 in their upcoming cabaret “Just Running Late” at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, 407 W. 42nd St., on December 9th at 6:30pm.

Don't expect a Christmas revue. Many of the songs are Christmas-adjacent or Christmas-obscure, but they suit the myriad moods of the season remarkably well.

Based on Harold Gray's comic strip titled Little Orphan Annie, this musical tells the story of a little orphan with equal measures of pluck and positivity who charms everyone's hearts, despite a next-to-nothing start in New York City in the year 1933.

Last week, the Recording Academy revealed nominees for the 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards. Cast recordings from the Girl From the North Country, Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cinderella, Les Miserables, and more were nominated for Best Musical Theatre album. The film adaptions of Dear Evan Hansen and In the Heights were nominated in the soundtrack categories.

Association of Theatrical Press Agents & Managers retired member Terry M. Lilly. Terry was a Press Agent on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and across the country, who came into membership in September of 1977. He passed away peacefully at home on November 24, 2021 after a long illness, surrounded by loved ones.
