Ragamala Dance Company has been selected to participate in the first phase of The Wallace Foundation's new five-year arts initiative focused on arts organizations of color, created as part of the foundation's efforts to foster equitable improvements in the arts.

Since their inception in 1996, the Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards for Excellence in High School Musical Theater have ignited the careers of many notable performers. The 2022 Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards ceremony took place at Paper Mill Playhouse on Monday, June 6, at 7:30pm, and was livestreamed. 

Joined by close friends, press, and invited guests, The LGBT icon kicked off pride with a stripped down performance of some of her greatest hits—including “Spinning Around”, “Love at First Sight”, and (of course) “Can’t Get You Out of My Head”. Guests were also treated to complimentary glasses of her upcoming Prosecco and Rosé.

Regina Spektor is debuting the track “Loveology,” a much beloved and previously unreleased song which will be featured on her forthcoming album, Home, before and after. “You Can’t Stop the Music” as the Village People say and this might have been the mission of the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC (GMCW) as they sang their hearts out in esteemed composer Andrew Lippa’s original work entitled Unbreakable.  This East coast premiere by Mr. Lippa (composer of the musicals The Wild Party, Big Fish, and the oratorio I am Harvey Milk) was originally planned for 2020 but thanks to the “unbreakable” GMCW spirit, this fascinating work by Mr. Lippa was finally presented at the Lincoln Theatre.

Casting has been announced for the upcoming Off-Broadway engagement of the Tony and Olivier Award-winning musical, Kinky Boots. Performances will begin on July 26th at Stage 42, with an opening night set for August 25th.

The evening will be hosted by his good friend and fellow hoofer, Lee Roy Reams, and features performances and remembrances by Jim Brochu, Anita Gillette, Kurt Peterson, Marianne Tatum and Penny Worth and directed by DO40 board member Lawrence Leritz, producer and choreographer of The Triad Theatre's hit show Boobs! The Musical.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley continues its 51st season with the hit musical Ragtime. This sweeping and stirring musical masterpiece paints a portrait of America at the dawn of the twentieth century, interweaving the lives of three families—an African American family, a Jewish Immigrant family, and a wealthy white family—finding their places and pursuing the American Dream in a rapidly changing world. Featuring a Tony Award-winning book by Pulitzer Prize finalist Terrence McNally (Master Class, Kiss of the Spider Woman, The Rink) and a Tony Award-winning score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens (Once on This Island, Anastasia, Seussical The Musical), this musical is based on E. L. Doctorow’s best-selling novel of the same name. Ragtime will be presented June 1-26, 2022 (press opening: June 4) at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts. Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles announced today that its season will conclude with A Salute to Sondheim, featuring special guest artist John Holiday (NBC’s The Voice and Matthew Aucoin’s Eurydice at The Metropolitan Opera).

The Muny announced today its full cast, design and production teams for the theatre's production of Chicago, June 13-19. The cast features Sarah Bowden (Roxie Hart), J.
