Theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI) announced the celebration of its 70th anniversary. San Francisco Opera presents Eun Sun Kim Conducts Verdi, a one-night-only concert honoring the work of Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi on Thursday, June 30 at 7:30 pm at the War Memorial Opera House. Caroline H. Hume Music Director Eun Sun Kim, closes her first season as leader of the Company’s artistic forces, conducting the San Francisco Opera Orchestra, Chorus and soloists Nicole Car, Arturo Chacón-Cruz, Etienne Dupuis and Soloman Howard with current San Francisco Opera Adler Fellows soprano Mikayla Sager, tenor Edward Graves, bass Stefan Egerstrom. Chorus Director John Keene, who begins his tenure this summer, prepares the Chorus.

Drury Lane Theatre Announces Cast for Production of STEEL MAGNOLIAS

Drury Lane Theatre announces the cast for its production of the empowering story of love and friendship, Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling, directed by Johanna McKenzie Miller. Due to demand, Steel Magnolias has been extended and now runs June 10 – August 7, 2022, at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace. The press opening is scheduled for Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 8:00 p.m.

Wallace Foundation Announces Grantees For $100M Initiative Supporting Arts Orgs Of Color

The Wallace Foundation today announced 18 arts organizations of color* will participate in the first phase of a new five-year arts initiative, part of the foundation's efforts to foster equitable improvements in the arts. Each organization will carry out an individual project to address a strategic challenge they are facing. Researchers will document their work with the aim of developing useful insights about the relationship between community orientation, resilience, and relevance.
