The House Theatre of Chicago continues its 10th anniversary season with an all-new re-imagining of the company's inaugural production and first ever hit, Death and Harry Houdini, which opened on January 29, 2012 and is now playing at The Chopin Theatre (1543 W. Division St.).

The Shaw Festival embarks on the first season of its next 50 years by proudly initiating a provocative conversation through the Tony Award-winning musical Ragtime. Based on E.L. Doctorow's novel of the same name, Ragtime is directed by Artistic Director Jackie Maxwell and brought to life by The Shaw's renowned acting Ensemble. This powerful and complex story of a young America on the cusp of defining itself and the hopes and dreams of its citizens continues to gain resonance today. Surpassing all expectations, early tickets sales to the Shaw Festival's production of Ragtime are nearly 20% above projected totals, while early April and May ticket purchases for special matinees are already 80% sold out. Yesterday's preview performance of Ragtime received a standing ovation.

Bristol Riverside Theatre today announced its 2012-2013 mainstage season featuring Oleanna by David Mamet, What a Glorious Feeling written by Jay Berkow and based on the film Singin' in the Rain, the world premiere of Faery Tales by Allan Knee, Gilbert & Sullivan's popular operetta The Pirates of Penzance, and Inherit the Wind by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. The House Theatre of Chicago announces that the sold-out hit show, Death and Harry Houdini, will add performances in July and August at The Chopin Theatre.

Chicago Children's Theatre's new musical THE HOUDINI BOX, will transfer to the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts, 9501 N. Skokie Blvd. in Skokie, for a second suburban run, through Mar. 25.

Monday, April 23, at 8pm the National Touring Company of WICKED will host "THE WICKED ROCKY HORROR SHOW", a staged concert performance of Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show - Book, music & lyrics by Richard O'Brien. Held at Denver's historic Ogden Theatre, the event will feature the company of WICKED. The net proceeds of this event will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and Project Angel Heart.

Chicago Children's Theatre's new musical THE HOUDINI BOX, currently enjoying a run at Chicago's Mercury Theater through Mar 4, will transfer to the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts, 9501 N. Skokie Blvd. in Skokie, for a second suburban run, Mar. 14-25.

Master puppeteer Blair Thomas will direct and create puppetry for CCT's The Houdini Box, already a recipient of two prestigious development grants from the National Endowment for the Arts. Book and lyrics are by Hannah Kohl, with original music by Mark Messing, music director of Chicago's #1 circus punk marching band Mucca Pazza.
