Masterworks Broadway continues to deliver on its promise to make more of its incomparable catalogue available by announcing weekly digital releases beginning with 'The Leonard Bernstein Songbook' on August 10. Each of these recently out-of-print recordings will be available for download only via major digital service providers.

Previews will begin today at Virginia's Signature Theatre for the world premiere musical Sycamore Trees written by Ricky Ian Gordon, the award-winning composer of the opera The Grapes of Wrath and the musicals Dream True and My Life with Albertine. A starry Broadway cast portrays Gordon's own family story - complete with a tough Bronx-born father and former 'Borscht Belt' singer/comedian mother - in a tale of two generations' struggles and triumphs in the decades from World War II through the 1990s.

A slew of Broadway talent joined in the 32nd annual Kennedy Center Honors on December 6th to honor acclaimed Broadway producer, Mel Brooks. The group included Gary Beach, Matthew Broderick, Richard Kind, Jane Krakowski, Matthew Morrison, Frank Langella and Martin Short. Brooks was honored as a winner of the 2009 Kennedy Center Honors for his contributions to both stage and screen.
