North Texas Performing Arts proudly presents Disney's The Lion King, Jr., February 1-10th at Plano's Courtyard Theatre and at North Texas Performing Arts in their new home at The Shops of Willow Bend. The performance will be in the Rodenbaugh Main Stage Theatre. Featuring a cast of actors, ages 7-15, the production is directed by Plano Children's Theatre alum, Christian Black. Choreography is by Lonnie Hightower, who performed in The Lion King on Broadway who originated the role of one of the hyenas in Disney's The Lion King on Broadway.

The Utah Symphony announced the addition of a fifth movie presentation to its popular, new Zions Bank Films in Concert series. On June 27 and 28, 2018, the full-length feature presentation of Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl will be screened at Abravanel Hall while the Utah Symphony performs the soundtrack live to picture. Disney's THE LION KING is celebrating its sold-out engagement in Baltimore, which concluded on Sunday at the Hippodrome Theatre. The triumphant four-week return grossed over $5.6 million at the box office and entertained more than 64,000 patrons during 31 performances. This was The Lion King's third time in Baltimore, following a 5-week engagement in 2012.

As the culminating event of its 20th anniversary season, Deeply Rooted Dance Theater (DRDT) presents 'Deeply Free,' opening with a program featuring the premiere of South African choreographer Fana Tshabalala's INDUMBA and continuing with performances showcasing works that span the company's history. Performances are December 8-10 at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts on the University of Chicago campus, 915 E. 60th Street, Chicago.
