BroadwayWorld has a first look at highlights from A Chorus Line at The Muny - check them out below!

A CHORUS LINE was the creation of Michael Bennett, one of Broadway's finest choreographers, who held a series of workshops in the mid 1970's to explore a way to examine the life that dancers lead. Then book writers James Kirkwood, Jr. and Nicholas Dante crafted a musical from this wealth of material collected to tell the story of Broadway's 'gypsies', the singers and dancers of the chorus that make their living by moving from production to production. And, it's how those stories are often vividly brought to life that distinguishes the current production at The MUNY. Instead of just relying solely on the compelling reasons that each character became a dancer, although some are left to stand alone in truly dramatic fashion, younger versions of themselves, whether through video projections or by using actual younger performers to act out their recollections as they speak are incorporated. It's an utterly charming touch that really stands out in stunning fashion. It makes this version particularly special, and when you combine that with a very talented ensemble, and an orchestra that sounds superb, you wind up producing a must-see show!

The Golden Apple stars Mikaela Bennett (Penelope), Jeff Blumenkrantz (Menelaus/Scylla), Ashley Brown (Mrs. Juniper/Madame Calypso), Carrie Compere (Lovey Mars/The Siren), Barton Cowperthwaite (Paris), Jason Kravits (Hector Charybdis), Alli Mauzey(Miss Minerva Oliver/The Scientist), Lindsay Mendez (Helen), N'Kenge (Mother Hare/Circe), and Ryan Silverman (Ulysses).

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Ivan Hernandez has joined the cast of A CHORUS LINE, running at The Muny July 29-August 4. Hernandez will play Zach, joining previously announced: Caley Crawford (Bebe), Rick Faugno (Al), Hannah Florence (Diana), Jolina Javier (Connie), Madison Johnson (Kristine), Sean Jones (Mike), Evan Kinnane (Bobby), Sarah Meahl (Val), Matt Meigs (Larry), Ian Paget (Paul), Justin Prescott (Don), Drew Redington (Mark), Kiira Schmidt (Judy), Bronwyn Tarboton (Maggie), Sharrod Williams (Richie) and Victor Wisehart (Greg) join the previously announced Bianca Marroquin (Cassie) and Megan Sikora (Sheila).???????

Encores! Artistic Director Jack Viertel today announced casting for the Encores! production of The Golden Apple, John Latouche and Jerome Moross' cult classic.

Following its initial casting announcement, The Muny announced today additional principal casting for its spectacular 99th season. This star-packed group includes a mixture of some of the brightest names from stage and screen, with many making their Muny debut this summer.

This Sunday, January 22nd, Broadway at W kicks off the 2017 Season with the high-flying return of Broadway's Cirque du Soleil Paramour.

Indie Band Fialta has just released a new music video directed and choreographed by Broadway's Andrew Keenan-Bolger and Charlie Williams and featuring Broadway dancers from Matilda, She Loves Me, Tuck Everlasting, Newsies, West Side Story, A Chorus Line, Finding Neverland, Mamma Mia, Mary Poppins, and more!  Fialta captures carefree summer friendships and fun in their newest music video for 'Be Someone,' while also shining a spotlight on up-and-coming Broadway talents. 

Some musicals make you think, some make you cry, while others just give you a permanent smile on your face for the duration of the show. The latter was the state of this reviewer as we set sail on the S.S. American for a rollicking "Bon Voyage" in Goodspeed Musicals' opening show of the 2016 season, ANYTHING GOES. This production is truly "De-Lovely" and lives up to the standard and quality that audiences are used to experiencing in the intimate, beautiful setting that is the Goodspeed Opera House.

Carnegie Hall's WEST SIDE STORY will be presented in three performances this weekend, March 4, 5, and 6, 2016, at the Knockdown Center, a restored factory in Queens.
