Actor Jeff Houkal was chosen from dozens of actors by LA Connection Comedy Theatre owner Kent Skov for the Best New Male Performer of the Year at the troupe's annual party on Wednesday, December 7. Jeff is a member of the Burbank-based improvisation company, which was founded in 1977, and whose Hall of Fame includes comedy greats such as Will Ferrell, Matthew Perry and Hank Azaria. 

 Kent Skov's L.A. Connection Comedy Theatre (LAC) continues its popular celebration of the incoming new year, which has been sold out every year for the past 24 years, with two shows featuring an all-star troupe of improv players. The schedule for December 31 was announced today by founder Kent Skov.  This will be the club's first New Year's Eve in the new Burbank location.

AMC Networks Inc., which owns and operates the comedy network IFC, today announced that it has acquired a minority ownership stake in FUNNY OR DIE, which will allow two strong, leading comedy brands to expand their collaboration and create smart, culturally relevant comedy across television, digital and social platforms.

FOX has ordered 29th and 30th seasons of the pop culture phenomenon THE SIMPSONS. The renewal takes the long-running animated series to 669 episodes, the largest number of episodes for any scripted television show ever, breaking the record previously set by “Gunsmoke” (635).

The Drama League has announced Tony Award and Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham (Amadeus), Emmy Award winner Hank Azaria ('The Simpsons'), Tony Award winner Christopher Durang (Vanya and Sonya and Masha and Spike), Tony Award winning Broadway Producer Daryl Roth (Kinky Boots), Tony Award nominees Kate Baldwin (Hello, Dolly!), Drama Desk nominee John Bolton (Curtains), along with Lea DeLaria ('Orange is the New Black') and Peri Gilpin ('Frazier'), have joined the roster of special guest performers for The 33rd Annual Drama League Centennial Musical Celebration of Broadway honoring Tony and Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce to be held on Monday evening, November 7, 2016 at The Plaza (768 Fifth Avenue) in New York City.

Mack & Moxy, a new kids' TV series produced by Socially Dynamic Entertainment in association with Bardel Entertainment and 12 national charities, will begin streaming on Netflix October 1 st.

It took several different cars, a limo, and even a dragon to get Jimmy Kimmel to his hosting gig at the 68th Annual Emmy Awards, but with help from the likes of James Corden, Jeb! Bush, and Khaleesi herself, the comedian finally made it to work in one piece.

The 68th Annual Emmy Awards are being held today at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles and will air on ABC at 8PM ET. Prior to the ceremony itself, stars of both the large and small screens turned out in their red carpet best. Check out the photos below!
