BIRDLAND will present acclaimed vocalist Jeff Harnar in his salute to Emmy, Grammy, Tony winning songwriter Cy Coleman in his award-winning show “A Collective Cy” on Monday, January 31 at 7:00 PM.

“The Boomer Boys Musical” arrives at The Palm Springs Cultural  Center for five performances on February 11, 12, and 13, 2022, for a hilarious night of songs, jokes, and stories about what happens to men when they reach a “certain age.” Lyrics are by BillyVan Zandt and Jane Milmore, music is by Wayland Pickard. The evening is produced  by Scott Stander.  

The American Symphony Orchestra celebrates its return to Carnegie Hall and its 60th anniversary season in 2021-22 on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 8 PM. The program, part of the Orchestra’s Vanguard Series conducted by Music Director Leon Botstein, features the U.S. premiere of Sergei Taneyev’s final work, At the Reading of a Psalm.

Carnegie Hall announced today that its performance by Yannick Nézet-Séguin and The Philadelphia Orchestra on Tuesday, January 11 has been rescheduled for Monday, February 21 at 8:00PM due to COVID-related concerns arising from the large number of singers and instrumentalists required on stage for Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.

The John W. Engeman Theater announces the cast and creative team for ROCK OF AGES. Performances begin on Thursday, January 27, 2022, and run through Sunday, March 13, 2022. Please note this is a change from the originally scheduled opening date of January 13, 2022. 

Des Moines Metro Opera announced today that Allen Perriello has been named to the position of Director of Artistic Administration for the company beginning February 16. He returns to DMMO having previously worked on the Company's music staff from 2011 to 2016.

Today's episode features Broadway favorite Andréa Burns. 'My very first professional job was playing 'Maria' in West Side Story on a European tour. I left school to do it. It kinda became my college education. Instead of going to school I was at West Side U,' Burns explained in the episode. 'Some many things happened... I got my Equity card, I met my future husband (who played Tony), and now we have a son who is half-Jet half-Shark! [The show] is incredibly meaningful to me.'

THE ROAD THEATRE COMPANY has announced its return to live performances with three plays performing in repertory. THE PLAY YOU WANT, written by Bernardo Cubria and directed by Michael John Garcés, will begin previews on Tuesday, February 8; will open on Friday, February 11 at 8pm and run through Sunday, March 27.

With everyone’s safety in mind, Carnegie Hall today announced that the New York String Orchestra concert scheduled for this Friday, December 24 at 7:00 p.m., unfortunately has been cancelled due to the detection of positive COVID-19 test results among a small number of the orchestra’s musicians.
