CHURCHILL, Off-Broadway's newest hit adapted and performed by Ronald Keaton, opened this past Wednesday, February 18th at New World Stages. The after party was held at St. Andrew's Restaurant where the celebrity guests included Haley Swindal, Tom Galantich, Eric Metaxas, Robert E. Wankel, Kevin Earley, Jamie deRoy, and musical director Jeffrey Saver. CHURCHILL is based on the life and writings of one of the greatest wartime leaders of the 20th Century. Marilyn Maye always gets standing ovations but few more exciting than when Tommy Tune is in the audience to rise out of his seat for the marvelous Marilyn. Tune, the New York City designated Living Landmark, had recently finished getting his own standing ovations at Encores! production of "Lady, Be Good". The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and preserving musical gems from the past, continues the 2014-2015 season with the world premiere of the new musical play, Texas in Paris, written by Alan Govenar with spirituals, cowboy songs and country hymns, starring Tony award-winner Lillias White (Fela, The Life) with Scott Wakefield (Hands on a Hardbody). Akin Babatunde (Blind Lemon Blues) directs this two character play based on a true story, with music supervision by Amy Jones.

Westchester Broadway Theatre dusted off the original version of Rogers & Hammerstein's South Pacific. The show is based on the Pulitzer Prize- winning book "Tales of the South Pacific" by James A. Michener. This is not a revival of the production done a few years ago at Lincoln Center Theater.
Rodgers and Hammerstein's award-winning South Pacific is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book Tales of the South Pacific by James A. Michener. The musical is set on an island paradise during World War II and tells two parallel love stories against the dangers of prejudice and war and the importance of valuing diversity. Its portrayal of Americans stationed in an alien culture in wartime is as relevant today as when it first thrilled audiences in 1949.
