TLC today announces that it has commissioned the two-hour film LETTERS TO JACKIE: REMEMBERING PRESIDENT KENNEDY, executive produced by Academy Award-winning documentary filmmaker Bill Couturie's The Couturie Company in partnership with Amblin Television.
Hailee Steinfeld, Amber Heard Join McG's Upcoming Thriller

EuropaCorp and Relativity Media have closed deals with Amber Heard (The Rum Diary, Paranoia), Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) and Connie Nielsen (Gladiator) for their Untitled Thriller project starring previously announced Oscar-winner Kevin Costner (The Bodyguard, Dances With Wolves, Open Range). McG (Charlie's Angels, Terminator Salvation) directs the gripping action tale from a screenplay by Luc Besson (Taken, Transporter) and Adi Hasak (From Paris With Love). The film is currently in production in Paris and will continue in Serbia, where it will wrap on April 22nd.
James Corden to Star in Upcoming Film SCHOOL FOR SANTAS

Deadline reports that Tony Award-winner James Corden is set to lead the cast of Working Title's upcoming film SCHOOL FOR SANTAS. The project will reunite the 'One Man, Two Guvnors' star with playwright Richard Bean, who will pen the script. A director on the film has not yet been chosen.

Wind Dancer Films announced today that it has come on board to finance and produce THE KEEPING ROOM with Gilbert Films and Anonymous Content. Sierra/Affinity will handle international sales, introducing buyers to the film at this week's American Film Market. WME Global arranged financing and will represent North America.

Kristen Wiig, Hailee Steinfeld, Guy Pearce, and Nick Nolte are all set to star in the upcoming indie flick, HATESHIP, FRIENDSHIP, The Hollywood Reporter announced this evening. Liza Johnson (RETURN) is helming the dramedy which begins filming in New Orleans next week.

According to a recent Equity audition notice, Romeo and Juliet might be heading back to Broadway in the near future, with auditions taking place at the end of the month. The Shakespearan classic might also embark on a national tour in 2013. A production timeline has not been announced.

Trinity Repertory Company previously announced that Rhode Island's own Academy Award-nominated actress, Viola Davis, would be honored with the 2012 Pell Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts at the 16th annual Pell Awards. Theater educator Elaine Foster Perry will receive the Charles Sullivan Award for Distinguished Service in the Arts, Brown University President Ruth J. Simmons will receive the Pell Award For Leadership in Arts Education, and J.L. "Lynn" Singleton, President of the Providence Performing Arts Center and Professional Facilities Management, will be honored as the recipient of the Pell Award for Outstanding Leadership in the Arts. All awardees are past or current Rhode Islanders.
