THE WICKHAMS: CHRISTMAS AT PEMBERLEY is a holiday treat. The production blends the lavish frippery of the Regency era with dollops of modern humor that is sure to please both traditional and contemporary tastes.

18th & Union is back from summer vacation. We're welcoming back our good friend Ricky Coates, formerly based in Seattle. Ricky and his performing partner Sadie Bowman offer two combustible mixtures of science and musical comedy. And, we'll host a new production of Jeffrey Hatcher's Three Viewings, a play that shows that even in mourning we can have a sense of humor.

Two brand new plays showing in the same space: the Northwest regional premiere of 'Green Whales,' a dark comedy about falling in love by Lia Romeo, and the world premiere of 'Still Life,' a touching and humorous look at life and loss in the age of terrorism by Barbara Blumenthal-Ehrlich. Another favorite Lord Peter Wimsey novel comes to the stage this fall as Taproot Theatre presents Dorothy L. Sayers' classic mystery, Gaudy Night. Harriet Vane's Oxford reunion is terrorized by murderous threats from the "Poison Pen," a vicious vandal determined to destroy our heroine and everything she holds dear. Is her sleuthing enough to apprehend the villain? And where is Lord Peter when she really needs him? Producing Artistic Director Scott Nolte directs Frances Limoncelli's adaptation of Gaudy Night, which opened last night, September 21 and runs through October 20. In March and April, The 5th Avenue Theatre will be holding general auditions for singers, actors, and dancers to fill both principal and ensemble roles in its 2011-12 season productions.
