A Noise Within Extends THE GUARDSMAN Through Dec 1

A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre company led by Producing Artistic Directors Geoff Elliott and Julia Rodriguez-Elliott, announced it is extending the run of The Guardsman by Ferenc Molnar, translated by Frank Marcus, with an added performance at 2:00 pm, now closing Sunday, December 1st, 2013.

The most wonderful time of the year is underway as Goodman Theatre's A Christmas Carol begins its 36th annual production. Directing the holiday favorite for the first time, Henry Wishcamper's production features all-new on stage magic-set elements, special effects and more. The cast of 27 (below, includes 14 new and 13 returning cast members) stars Larry Yando, who most recently appeared in Mary Zimmerman's production of The Jungle Book as Shere Khan, in his sixth turn as Ebenezer Scrooge and 8-year-old Matthew Abraham as Tiny Tim for the second year. Aaron Glick Awarded Columbia University School of the Arts' T. Fellowship

T. Fellowship in association with Columbia University School of the Arts announced Aaron Glick as the third fellow in the one-year program designed to educate and empower new creative producers. The fellow will receive a stipend of $10,000 with a $20,000 budget for the development of a new theatrical production.

James Rocco to Join Rob Ashford, Susan Stroman and More as BROADWAY SALUTES Inductee, 9/24

James Rocco (Vice President Programming and Producing Artistic Director of Ordway Center for the Performing Arts) is being recognized for his 25 Years of Dedication to the theatre at 3:30 p.m. on September 24, 2013 at the Times Square Visitor Center. The Broadway League and Coalition of Broadway Unions will be inducting James as well as Rob Ashford, Karen Azenberg, Jeff Calhoun, Sheldon Epps, Joey McKneely, Gregory Mosher and Susan Stroman into BROADWAY SALUTES.

A wealth of talent has come together to produce The Guardsman at the Kennedy Center. It is a handsome production, worthy of any stage in the nation. Playwright and translator Richard Nelson has created a multi-layered dramatic comedy based closely on Ferenc Molnar's original 1910 play. With direction by Gregory Mosher, The Guardsman stars Finn Wittrock and Sarah Wayne Callies as married actors.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents the Kennedy Center production of The Guardsman in the Eisenhower Theater from May 25 to June 23, 2013. Principal casting includes Finn Wittrock as The Actor, Sarah Wayne Callies as The Actress, Julie Halston as Mother, and Shuler Hensley as The Critic. The cast also includes Annie Funke as Maid, John Ahlin as The Creditor, and Naomi Jacobson as The Female Usher. A fresh Kennedy Center adaptation based on the 1910 comedy by Hungarian playwright Ferenc Molnar, The Guardsman features a new translation by Richard Nelson and is directed by Gregory Mosher. The press opening is Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.

Billy Crudup and Shuler Hensley Join Cast of NO MAN'S LAND and WAITING FOR GODOT

Tony Award winners Billy Crudup and Shuler Hensley will join Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart in the limited season repertoire of Harold Pinter's No Man's Land and Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot, directed by Sean Mathias, on Broadway at the Cort Theatre, 138 West 48th Street, this fall. Performances will begin Saturday, October 26 at 8pm. The official opening is Sunday, November 24, 2013. This limited season will run for 14 weeks only.

BREAKING NEWS: Lynn Ahrens & Stephen Flaherty's LITTLE DANCER to Premiere at Kennedy Center in October 2014!

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced it will produce the world premiere original musical production of Little Dancer featuring book and lyrics by Tony Award winner Lynn Ahrens, music by Tony Award winner Stephen Flaherty, and direction and choreography by five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman. The musical will begin performances in the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater in October 2014. Casting and additional details about Little Dancer will be announced at a later date.

Finn Wittrock, Sarah Wayne Callies and Shuler Hensley to Lead THE GUARDSMAN at the Kennedy Center

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced Finn Wittrock as The Actor, Sarah Wayne Callies as The Actress, and Shuler Hensley as The Critic in the Kennedy Center production of The Guardsman in the Eisenhower Theater May 25 to June 23, 2013. Based on the 1910 comedy by Hungarian playwright Ferenc Molnar, The Guardsman features a new literal translation by Richard Nelson and is directed by Gregory Mosher. The press opening will take place on Thursday, May 30 at 7:30 p.m.
