Shakespeare & Company opens their 40th Anniversary Season with 4000 Miles written by Amy Herzog, and directed by Nicole Ricciardi. This Pulitzer Prize finalist and Winner of the 2012 Obie Award for Best New Play explores growing up, growing old and the moments in between. The acclaimed comic drama runs at the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre from May 25 to July 16, 2017.

Playwright William Gibson chronicles Golda Meir's life and times in GOLDA'S BALCONY, focusing primarily on the period of the 1973 Yom Kippur War, interspersed with flashbacks of her journey to becoming Prime Minister of Israel. Bobbie Steinbach inhabits the role in a tour de force performance that is passionate, fierce, intuitive, and packed with emotion. The New Rep production is skillfully directed by Judy Braha.

Back in October actress Wendy Westerwelle woke up, went downstairs made a cup of coffee and went out to the back deck to chat with her husband. When she arrived she found the top of his head bobbing in the water. She screamed, dropped the coffee cup and tried with all her might to pull him out of the water. Mark, being 6'6 and Wendy at 5'4" couldn't retrieve his body - fortunately, a woman was staying at her home and helped Wendy call the paramedics, her Rabbi, and console Wendy.

It's been a big success for the actresses who have undertaken the role, and we're lucky to have one of St. Louis' finest portraying this historically important figure. The New Jewish Theatre's current production, which opens their 20th season, gives Lavonne Byers the opportunity to, once again, thoroughly engage and enthrall an audience, while giving us insights into Golda Meir's fascinating life story. This is an incredibly well crafted presentation that definitely deserves your attendance.

2016 NYMF Reveals Initial Lineup

The New York Musical Festival (NYMF), previously known as The New York Musical Theatre Festival, announced today the initial lineup for NYMF 2016. Among the shows announced in the lineup are the Next Link Project musical selections, as well as invited production selections, developmental reading selections, and concerts. Now in its thirteenth year, the 2016 Festival will take place in July at locations around midtown Manhattan in New York City.
