ONCE opened at the Olney Theatre in Baltimore on February 6th and is running through March 10, 2019.

Award-winning global entertainment and event distributor Trafalgar Releasing brought the filmed version of the star-studded tribute concert, The Music Center Presents Joni 75: A Birthday Celebration, to more than 410 movie theaters across the US and Canada on Thursday, February 7, for a one-night cinema event.  This successful theatrical release, which has already amassed more than half a million dollars at the box office and achieved the highest per screen average of all titles showing in more than 100 locations on Thursday, comes on the heels of Trafalgar Releasing's record-breaking release of Burn the Stage: the Movie featuring K-Pop sensation BTS, and the critically acclaimed Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams, which both released in November 2018.

'On Stage' recently announced that Baldwin Wallace University's Music Theatre program has risen to number one calling it 'a top destination for any student wanting to study musical theatre.'

 Virginia Repertory Theatre announces the opening of Once today, February 8, 2019 at the November Theatre/Arenstein Stage, 114 West Broad Street. The show will run through Sunday, March 3, 2019.  Previews will be on Wednesday, February 6 and Thursday, February 7, 2019. With music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, and book by Enda Walsh, this enchanting and emotionally captivating musical love story is based on the 2007 movie by John Carney.

On February 11, New York Theatre Workshop is celebrating 40 years of bringing the work of visionary artists to adventurous audiences. Honoring musical icon Joni Mitchell's legacy and 75th birthday, Decca Records will release The Music Center Presents Joni 75: A Birthday Celebrationon March 8, 2019. On Joni's 75th birthday last November, a star-studded roster of musicians gathered together to pay tribute to the legendary singer-songwriter. The evening was recorded and is now subsequently being released. It features performances by Brandi Carlile; Glen Hansard; Emmylou Harris; Norah Jones; Chaka Khan; Diana Krall; Kris Kristofferson; Los Lobos with La Marisoul, Cesar Castro & Xochi Flores; Graham Nash; James Taylor; Seal; Rufus Wainwright; and more. Just in time for Valentine's Day, Pioneer Theatre Company presents the romantic, Tony Award-winning musical Once, with music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova and book by Enda Walsh. Based on the motion picture written and directed by John Carney, the Sundance film-turned-Broadway-hit won eight Tonys, including Best Musical. The touching love ballad, 'Falling Slowly,' also won the Oscar for Best Song. It runs February 15 through March 2, 2019.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) will present 17 Border Crossings, created and performed by NYTW Usual Suspect Thaddeus Phillips (A Billion Nights on Earth), and directed by Tatiana Mallarino (Red Eye to Havre de Grace). This will be Thaddeus Phillips's third collaboration with NYTW, following ¡El Conquistador! in 2006 and Red Eye to Havre de Grace in 2014.

Beck Center for the Arts presents Once with the esteemed Baldwin Wallace University Music Theatre Program. This limited engagement runs February 8 through 24, 2019 in the Mackey Theater.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) (Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director Jeremy Blocker) will transfer Heidi Schreck's What the Constitution Means to Me to the Greenwich House Theater (27 Barrow Street) at the end of this month, extending its limited run to the end of the year. This immediate transfer, unprecedented in NYTW's history, is in response to the enormous and overwhelming response to Heidi Schreck's timely and powerful creation. Performed by two-time Obie Award winner Schreck (Grand Concourse, "I Love Dick") and directed by Obie Award winner Oliver Butler (The Amateurs, The Light Years), What the Constitution Means to Me began previews on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, and opened Sunday, September 30 at New York Theatre Workshop (79 E. 4th Street).

Honoring one of the world's most revered artists, The Music Center celebrated Joni Mitchell on November 6 and 7, 2018, with two all-star concerts - JONI 75: A Birthday Celebration Live at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion - and an exclusive gala, co-hosted with Vanity Fair and its editor Radhika Jones, which feted her 75th birthday and raised funds for The Music Center's artistic programming, specifically free and low cost programming for underserved communities. The concerts featured performances by Brandi Carlile; Glen Hansard; Emmylou Harris; Norah Jones; Chaka Khan; Diana Krall; Kris Kristofferson; Los Lobos with La Marisoul, Cesar Castro & Xochi Flores; Graham Nash; Seal; James Taylor; and Rufus Wainwright. The artists lit up the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion stage performing Mitchell's songs, which spanned all stages of her career. Co-musical directors Brain Blade and Jon Cowherd provided the evenings' musical arrangements.

Joe's Pub, a program of The Public Theater, is thrilled to announce Judy Collins as the 2019 recipient of The Vanguard Award & Residency, which celebrates the work and influence of an icon of American popular culture. The Vanguard Award & Residency is one of many initiatives that furthers The Public's commitment to nurturing and celebrating artists at all levels of their careers. Collins is honored for her legendary career inspiring audiences with her sublime vocals and boldly vulnerable songwriting, but also her fierce activism in social justice and mentorship to many artists. Beyond her own performances, the year under Collins's distinctive curatorial guidance will include Thomas Dybdahl on February 7, plus shows by Mx. Justin Vivian Bond andAri Hest in the spring.
