Two Ginger Rogers films will be shown on a 12-foot screen on Friday night, July 13 at the Truman Memorial Building at 416 W Maple Avenue. Suggested donation is $5.00. Only 75 seats are available. Festival ticket holders will have the opportunity to see presentations about the house where Ginger was born, the history of the house, Ginger's ancestors, and more at the Truman Library on July 14. Speakers include Audrey Elder with Past2Present Research, Gene Padgitt with HearthMasters, Inc., Tom Talbert, videographer, and Marge Padgitt, Director of the museum. A tour of the Truman Library is included in the ticket price. A fundraising banquet and silent auction will be held in the evening at the Truman Memorial Building. The keynote speaker is Roberta Olden, Ginger Rogers' personal assistant for 18 years. On Sunday, July 15, a Ginger Roger's fan club meeting for festival ticket holders only will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Ginger House Museum at 100 W Moore Street. The Museum will be open to the public from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. for a fee of $6.00 per person. The official opening of the museum will occur later in the year. This is the first time the house will be open to the public since it was purchased by Three Trails Cottages, LLC in February of 2016. Renovations have been completed to the interior only. The festival is a fundraiser for exterior renovations and landscaping. Donations are being accepted by The Local History Preservation Society, a not-for-profit organization. Today, Lincoln Center announced the 2018 season of Midsummer Night Swing, bringing people from all walks of life together to experience an array of sounds and dance styles from Today, June 26 to Saturday, July 14, 2018. This iconic New York social dance party will feature 15 nights under the stars, with outdoor dance lessons and live performances paying tribute to the histories of Lindy hop, swing, mambo, salsa, blues, and more, while welcoming newcomers and dance pros alike to experience the joy of social dance.

'There is something so simple, so wholesome about the story and the characters. When Curly made his entrance on opening night at the St. James Theatre in 1943 and sang 'Oh, what a beautiful morning,' the whole audience took a huge sigh of relief. There in the midst of war was a breath of optimism and that beautiful music.' And, indeed, when the speaker, actor Stephen Mark Lukas makes the same entrance seventy-five years later on the stage of the Ogunquit Playhouse in the company's new production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic Oklahoma, the entire audience reacts in exactly same way. With a smile as expansive as the territory and a voice as luminous as the bright morning about which he sings, Lukas establishes immediate affection and rapport for the character of Curly, as does his co-star, the lovely, radiant Taylor Quick.

Curve has announced the casting for its world-premiere Made at Curve production of Memoirs of an Asian Football Casual, running in Leicester from 26th September - 6th October 2018. The production is adapted for the stage by Curve Associate Artist, Dougal Irvine from the 2012 book by Riaz Khan. The gritty drama will be directed by Curve's Artistic Director, Nikolai Foster.

This world premiere drama examines the friendship of two remarkable women, one an ex-prisoner of the Heart Mountain Internment Camp, and the other, a Holocaust survivor. A supportive and transformative relationship between these best friends is tested when family and health issues change the routine. Scenes For A Green World explores the potential for redemption when reconnecting to one's early years can be both a curse and a blessing. What can be nurtured to blossom out of the dark ground of the past to sustain the future for oneself and others?

East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District, South Fellini and Make Music Philadelphia will host a Spice Girls Pop-Up Choir this Thursday, June 21, 2018 during Make Music Day. The general public is invited to channel their best Scary Spice, Sporty Spice, Baby Spice, Ginger Spice and Posh Spice during the free event that will take place at the historic Singing Fountain (at the intersection of 11th Street and East Passyunk).  From 7:00pm to 8:00pm, participants will engage in a brief rehearsal led by local singer-songwriter and certified music therapist Carolyn Thorn, followed by a public performance and recording of the night. No experience is necessary - just a love of singing. Participation is free and open to all ages.

As the Ogunquit Playhouse celebrates its 86th year of entertaining audiences here in Maine, the second show of the season is the gem of a Broadway musical, Oklahoma, celebrating its 75th anniversary year.

The Moody Fund for the Arts (MFA) today announced that, in its first year, the fund is awarding $150,000 in grants to 36 small Dallas arts organizations. The fund also announced that the total award amount is a 50% increase over the previously announced $100,000, allowing the MFA to provide more grants to cultural groups.
