What did our critic think of SOME LIKE IT HOT at TPAC’s Jackson Hall?

The BLCK Madonna’s CD release at Baretto highlighted Ana Hoffman’s warm presence and thoughtful artistry. A stronger second set and a few standout moments revealed a performer with clear vision and some future promise.

Kathleen Marshall’s sumptuous revival of (Top Hat) transforms the Théâtre du Châtelet into a 1930s fantasia of tap brilliance, screwball romance, and Irving Berlin classics. Phillip Attmore and Nicole‑Lily Baisden lead a radiant cast through a whirlwind of mistaken identities, Art Deco glamour, and showstopping choreography. Running until 3 May.

The Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) just added Broadway superstar Sierra Boggess and Grammy winning trio Time for Three, consisting of Ranaan Meyer (double bass, vocals), Nicolas “Nick” Kendall (violin, vocals) and Charles Yang (violin, vocals), to the 2026 Princeton Festival's impressive roster of artists.

THE MUSIC OF US: FROM THEN TO NOW on 3/13 celebrated America's 250 years in music. The trio of phenomenal guest singers - Max Clayton, Nova Payton and Ephraim Sykes brought down the house at the famed venue. Bravo!

Broadway performer Sondra Lee died of natural causes in her New York City apartment at age 97. Throughout her nine-decade career, Lee won awards as a dancer, actor, teacher, author, stage director, playwright, theatre and film consultant and painter.

This Spring, Great Performances will air the filmed recording of Suffs, the Broadway musical from Tony Award winner Shaina Taub. The recording was captured during the show's original Broadway run.

International performer Michael Crawford is probably best known the world over for originating the title character in The Phantom of the Opera in the West End, on Broadway, and an extended engagement in Los Angeles. But his seventy year career goes far beyond that one show. Prior to The Phantom of the Opera Mr. Crawford appeared regularly on the West End in such productions as Barnum, Black Comedy, Flowers for Algernon, and Billy. You might also remember him from his performance of Corneilus Hackl in the movie version of Hello Dolly. He also appeared in EFX at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas as well as having a very successful concert and solo recording career.

Twenty or so dancers parade before an oversized Art Deco clock, to the familiar strains of ‘Puttin’ on the Ritz’ from a brass band offstage. In other words, the stage is set for a reassuringly old-fashioned taste of the Golden Age of movie musicals.

A sophisticated, slightly sweet, and satiric tone sweeps over the characters of the luxuriously professional production of the musical Some Like it Hot, now touring at the National Theatre. From the moment that the show opens with the ode to self-gratification and excess “What Are You Thirsty For?” to the hymn to misbehavior “Let’s Be Bad” to the rousing finale “Baby, Let’s Get Good” ---this show grabs the audience and never lets it go.

Town Hall Theater in Middlebury will run The Hollywood Musical, a four-part class and movie series led by Doug Anderson, Mondays Oct 27–Nov 24 at 7 p.m. on the Rothrock Mainstage.

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that Pat Crowley, actress of the stage and screen, has passed away at the age of 91. Though mostly known for her work in Hollywood, Crowley appeared in three Broadway productions as a young performer in the early 1950s.

Original scripts for classic Broadway shows such as The Music Man, musical arrangements written for iconic artists including Sammy Davis Jr., Andy Williams, Rosemary Clooney, Natalie Cole and Frank Sinatra, and more are included.

The Muny’s La Cage Aux Folles is enormity in storytelling. Contrasted with the intimacy of last week’s Dear Evan Hansen, Marsha Milgrom Dodge’s La Cage captures the grandeur of what The Muny does best. It is a grand venue that supports epic productions.
