MainStreet Theatre Company is delighted to announce their final show of the season - the west coast premiere of Roald Dahl's The Magic Finger. British Playwright David Wood did the adaptation, which premiered at Imagination Stage in Bethesda, MD in 2013. Mr. Wood has continued to work on the play, and MainStreet will be producing a brand new version. Abigail Deser is the director. The production will play two school performances on May 2nd, and open to the public on Saturday, May 3rd at 4pm. The strictly limited engagement will run through Sunday, May 18th only.

The Real Housekeepers of Studio City is banking on the fact that everything old is new again by playing to the audience who views the world through a less cynical lens and remembers a time when you didn't get up to leave the room when the commercials came on because you loved them just as much as the show itself.

Very few new shows, especially musicals, have that extra special spark, that je ne sais quoi that makes them a surefire success. For starters, there must be a good book - with a story that's credible...and funny - and a pleasant score that keeps your fingers and toes tapping, at least while you are in your seats. Actor Tim Allen was present at the opening night of I Love Lucy® Live on Stage - The world premiere of a musical comedy tribute to the most popular and longest-running television show in history.

No one can duplicate the brilliance of Lucille Ball, Vivian Vance, Desi Arnaz and William Frawley, the original stars of I Love Lucy on CBS from 1951-1957; they are irreplaceable. But...oh what fun it is to see what they did and a glimmer of how they did it at the Desilu Studio in 1952 as presented by Rick Sparks in 'I Love Lucy' Live on Stage now at the Greenway Court Theatre. Like the setup of last year's runaway stage hit Hoboken to Hollywood, the audience is the live audience for the taping, in Lucy's case - filming - with announcer, jingle singers and commercial actors all gearing up to put on a show in between actual takes of filming the episodes. This is a very entertaining evening thanks to the entire cast and crew whose merry mood/antics throughout create more than ample sparks.
