Prepping for Ultraviolence: The Cast of A CLOCKWORK ORANGE Dishes on Their Physical New Gig

The cast of the hotly anticipated off-Broadway run of the stage adaptation of the classic novel, A Clockwork Orange, just met the press and BWW was there to take you inside the special day! The vibrant cast of young actors was on hand to dish about their new gig and let us in on some of their prep for the intensely physical piece, including a stunning six-hour callback that left many in shock (and even drove some to drink).

Rehearsals for Elliott & Harper Productions' inaugural production, Heisenberg: The Uncertainty Principle by Simon Stephens began this week. Directed by the Olivier and Tony award-winning Marianne Elliott, it runs at the Wyndham's Theatre in London from 3 October 2017 to 6 January 2018, with a press night on Monday 9 October 2017. Marianne's many credits include the award-winning productions of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, War Horse and most recently the National Theatre's production of Angels in America, which will transfer to Broadway next year, as a co-production with Elliott & Harper.

Review Roundup: GYPSY at Lyric Stage Company

GYPSY will run at the Lyric Stage Company in Boston until October 8. The legendary show is based on the real-life memoirs of burlesque mega-star, Gypsy Rose Lee, and her stage-mother behind the curtain, Mama Rose. It features songs such as 'Everything's Coming Up Roses,' 'Some People,' and 'Let Me Entertain You.'

Disney Announces Season 3 Pickups for STUCK IN THE MIDDLE, BUNK'D & More

A trio of popular comedy series for kids age 6-14 have received third season orders -- Disney Channel's 'Stuck in the Middle' from executive producer Linda Videtti Figueiredo, 'BUNK'D' from executive producer Pamela Eells O'Connell and Disney XD's 'Walk the Prank' from executive producers Adam Small and Trevor Moore. Production on each will resume in the fall.

Rod Stewart and DNCE to Perform 'Da Ya Think I'm Sexy' at the 2017 VMAs

MTV today announced that Sir Rod Stewart, one of best-selling artists of all-time and a two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee, will perform with multi-platinum selling group DNCE for the re-imagined version of one of the most iconic dance tracks of all time, Stewart's “Da Ya Think I'm Sexy” at the 2017 “VMAs.”

MAPA Commissions New Australian Theatre and Musical Works

Committed to supporting the current generation of performance makers, the Monash Academy of Performing Arts (MAPA), in conjunction with the Monash University Centre for Theatre and Performance and the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music, has commissioned two new Australian works - a physical theatre piece: Death Match and a musical: Jack of Two Trades.

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Artistic Director Carey Perloff announced today that single tickets for A.C.T.'s 2017-18 subscription season are now available. Filled with vital, brave, and imaginative storytelling that unites vigorous, highly theatrical works with a stunning gathering of contemporary artists, A.C.T.'s 2017-18 season features William Shakespeare's Hamlet, starring Obie Award winner and 2017 Tony Award nominee John Douglas Thompson in the title role, joined by stage and screen star Carl Lumbly; Bess Wohl's critically acclaimed comedy Small Mouth Sounds; Harold Pinter's classic drama The Birthday Party; Qui Nguyen's irreverent new comedy Vietgone; Simon Stephens's new hit play Heisenberg; and Pulitzer Prize winner Suzan-Lori Parks's Father Comes Home from the Wars (Parts 1, 2 & 3), an epic, music-infused take on the Odyssey set against the backdrop of the Civil War. Closing out the 2017-18 season will be the world-premiere musical A Walk on the Moon, based on the 1999 movie of the same name.
